The fact he was probably about a centimetre from being assassinated is honestly wild to me. What a scary world we live in :fail:

Same. It still feels surreal that this happened. We could have entered a very different timeline yesterday had he moved his head an inch to the right.

It’s quite.. interesting that there was time for Trump - given the hysteria that ensued the second the shooter shot at him - to stop the Secret Service, pose for a photo with his fist in the air, complete with an American Flag in the background screaming ‘fight!’.. it does make you wonder what really happened.

Regardless, this has pretty much solidified his win come election time. One day Biden mistakes his VP for his opposition & calls the president of a defeated country the name of the dictator who’s responsible for it.. the next day, Trump is nearly assassinated. It’s only going to get worse from here on in.

Excuse me? There’s people dead, how is this funny or joke worthy?

Where’s the funny?? How is expressing distrust from events at a political rally a joke?? I’m not the only one with suspicion and it’s not to get a few laughs. It’s very serious and very scary.

My initial thought was that it was staged, but two people dead, one of them shot by the police... no, I don't think it was staged. And if the blood was faked I think the Secret Service would have to have been involved too, and I don't think that's plausible.

I'll tell you though why I thought it was staged. The fact that Trump did that defiant fist pump and 'fight, fight' - I couldn't see him having the guts or the quick-wittedness to do that. I thought he'd be in 'get me out of here and f--k everyone else' mode. The fact that he did what he did suggests that he actually believes his own bs, and that makes him nuts. And that photo with the flag is just too good to be true, but I suspect it might have been photo-shopped rather than being deliberately set up. And another reason why I thought it might have been staged is that the Republican convention starts tomorrow. He 's going to get to turn up there now wearing a bandage.

He's a lucky pos the way these cards have fallen for him. Even the fact that there was a fatality in the crowd (may they rest in peace) is something that he can milk next week.

This!!!!! People are dead and folk are saying is fishy or staged, tell that to the victims families. Jesus, have some humanity. Violence is never the answer

The US used a terrorist attack as an excuse to invade a country and we still fight to this day about whether it was right or not to enslave people. We also knowingly eat poison that we pay for because it is cheaper to eat than something that will sustain us. Let's not act like we're above killing Americans to continue a capitalist dystopia. This has a lot more merit to it than something like Sandy Hook or Pulse being staged. Trump has always tried to be the victim and the savior at the same time and he's never cared about preserving anyone's life to achieve what he wants.

"It is incredible that such an act can take place in our Country". We're almost there y'all. They've almost done the math.

The world acting like this man hasn’t incited and encouraged destructive violence for years now.

The gaslighting and whataboutism is insanity.

No, it’s not incredible that such an act can take place in the US because there are more weapons in circulation than inhabitants and you’re enabling it by protecting a dated and dangerous Amendment. Hopefully getting a taste of your own medicine will finally make you do something when you inevitably get back into office.

I can’t make my mind up with this one !

He was shot at multiple times and they missed ??

instead of getting him out of there he needed one last photo op ??

A lot to be questioned !

was it member of the public that was killed or just the gunman ?

The MAGA accounts are now silent seeing as the shooter was a cis white man who is registered as a Republican :rip:

biden has to leave the government now, Trump is now in a good position after this. the more Biden waits, the more possibilities will trump have for winning the elections

before this, everybody was scared of trump, that he would become a dictator, he was the leader of the assault on the Capitol. now everybody is like “oh poor, he has been shot”

he is the closest to my ideology, but i would never vote him, he is completely crazy, he has too much power in the country

the best thing biden can do now is move forward the elections as soon as possible

He only posed for the photo once the shooter had been killed and it was safe for him to stand up again.

We say a lot about Trump, but no one can deny that he has a keen understanding of the power of imagery and propaganda. He is a lot more calculated than we give him credit for. The second he realized the bullet missed him and he wasn't in danger, he realized he was handed a photo opportunity on a silver platter. The image of Trump as a martyr for his supporters with his head bleeding and his fist in the air against the backdrop of the American flag is something his campaign could have only dreamed of before yesterday.
