Stop focusing on trivia. It's just a name -- he's done that kind of fumble for decades. Listen, instead, to the content of his answers. He's on top of things.

And not to be too obvious, but he's not actually confusing Trump and Harris. Does anyone think that? It's just their names. It doesn't matter.

That's not gonna happen here, unfortunately. It's too easy to clip the numerous little slip-ups that play into the story being pushed. Less work to do that way. No one wants to watch his press conferences or speeches long enough to see how capable he actually is and the quick little bytes being spread are of him misspeaking.

This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss.

can he actually be replaced? like is it legal? I hope so

Despite his claims, he is not yet the official nominee. It’s still “he needs to decide to step aside” and that’s the only thing that can save us

I don’t actually think Biden is senile. But perception is reality, and the flubs aren’t gonna squash the narrative that’s developed.

This is sad and worrisome to watch, I feel sorry for Biden. I don’t understand the inertia of the Democratic Party though, this is reaching an unbearable point and I fear for the US democracy and what Trump’s victory may cost for the rest of the world.

To anyone being outraged by this sentence I suggest go listen to the whole conference. He stumbles very unfortunately with such sentences and mix ups. However, the way he just answered topics on foreign policies and complex issues with China and Russia showcases that he hasn't lost at the subject matter but at the subject speech and appearance. Rachel Maddows just highlighted that in her analysis and used the word "masterful" describing the way he can answer rhetoric questions around foreign policies with subject matter. I would say Biden needs to do MORE of this kind of appearances. People will get used to his rather unlucky stumbles but will soon get that at the subject matter of politics he is destroying Trump and can accept this correlation. He should do as many live townhalls and free speech conferences as possible imo

I hope you understand that the blunders everyone is seeing and running with here is exactly what is happening with the press and the general public too. It doesn't matter if it's just small slip ups. It doesn't matter if you can or can't logically explain a lot of it. It's politics and optics, that's all. Biden has made the impression that he's not fit to run so widely that his own party has had to address it, including senior officials. At the end of the day, whether he is actually fit or not does not matter. Because the image he projected to the public is one of elder age and incoherence. The moment the Democratic Party had to start addressing if he's fit to run the presidency is the moment they should have put somebody else forth.

It's not fair that Trump gets away with so much while Biden gets sh*t for every single thing he does. But we've ALWAYS known that Biden didn't have many core fans to begin with. This has been a known fact since 2020, when Biden had to fight as hard as he did to get into office, and mostly on "I'm not Trump" too. Democrats should have never rode that horse into 2024 unless Biden had a great 4 years, which he absolutely did not. Whether that's his fault or not does not matter. Because we're dealing with the same voters that think gas prices are tied to which side is president. The DNC should have spent the last 4 years grooming 2-3 people to run a great campaign. One in the House and two in the Senate. They should have tried to gather a cult following in the way Trump did on their side of the aisle, to force more cohesion within the party. They should have found a way to oust Manchin and Sinema or have them fall in line as well. None of that happened, they're pushing the candidate that should have never been a consideration in the first place, and now they're standing here like Shocked Seinfeld GIF by HULU

The way things are going right now is not a surprise, and I feel like it SHOULD cause a huge shake up in the DNC. But it won't. Because at the end of the day, they're all just wolves in sheep's clothing. Whether (R) or (D) they're still gonna be making money on Americans' misfortunes and exploitation.

Majority of Americans aren't going to watch the whole conference, so it doesn't really matter. They'll watch the clips of his stumbles. He just needs to step down.

literally half the people I know who were already on the fence and voted for biden in 2020 are completely switched to Trump because of inflation, and because of this "fumble" at the debate and afterwards.... they are focused on his decline due to age vs his policies, literally any other strong democratic candidate could work.
