AOC has said that Biden should be the next Democratic nominee and ignored pleas for his removal, saying that "the matter is closed" (source). I don't see her ever going against the status quo by doing the right thing.

Her strategy is clear: to be the "rebelious" young politician "willing to go against the status quo" while actually doing the opposite. She's the one able to attract the votes, support, and attention from the most progressive and left-leaning wing of the Democratic Party so that those people won't abandon the party and go to another more progressive and real alternative.

But she's also made sure her supporters and policies go further right as times goes by, as evidenced by actions like her support for the 2019 Bolivia coup (source, this despite her saying the US should be "sorry" for its interventionism) and her campaign against more progressive candidates like Bernie Sanders (source), even though Bernie also leaves a lot to be desired.

Let's just hope it's not bad timing and they won't get impeached when Trump is (probably) elected
