I had a weird obsession with her during TF/TFM - collecting posters, magazine cutouts; but I was just a small kid following everything pop-related, so I wouldn't call myself a LM back then, especially considering how devoted LMs actually were back in the day.

I became a part of the cult after TMB in my country (I wasn't there tho!), right before BTW era. That was when her message started to resonate with me fully. I was 13 yrs old

Since Just Dance, I remember watching it on MTV for the first time, a friend wanted to have the song on her MP3 so I downloaded the song for her, got hooked, and then Poker Face came out and the rest is history. The first album I got was TF/TFM, i was like 14/15. Time sure does fly.

I think it was around 2008/2009 when I discovered LoveGame on twitter but she wasn’t famous in my country yet. Then her hits started playing on the radio stations and I enjoyed each one of them, but I’ve been listening to rock music my whole life so I never really engaged with the crazy popstar persona. By the time ARTPOP came out, I wasn’t even paying attention to her anymore (I know, my bad). 

But then in 2016 Joanne was released and I felt in love with her music. So I started to watch interviews to get to know the person behind those lyrics and melodies that spoke directly to my soul. Little by little I got to know her body of work and each time the feeling was “this girl is really one of a kind”. 

I think that the reason why I became a fan is because I can relate so much to her as a person. If it was just about admiring her work, she would mean what Adele means to me. 

But getting to know Stefani and all of her creations is something beyond special to me, for many times she was the one holding my hand through her music and her words of encouragement. I feel like I’m forever in her debt, she has giving me so much already.

My discovering had nothing to do with what she was doing atm. By the time I knew almost nothing about her because when I was little I was scared of Gaga so I avoided her for years  until one day when I was 13 I woke up with the Bad Romance refrain in my head for some queer destiny reason and decided to rediscover her, I started with her TF,TFM hits until I got into the rest of her discography, by the end of that year Joanne was my favorite album ever  until Chromatica came out, I mean, I was a 15yo in the middle of a pandemic overthinking my existence so it accompanied me through a lot. As many of you, I can't describe the impact she had on me and I can't even imagine my-19yo proud agender-self without Gaga in my life.
