You just know Taylor fans are going to work 24/7 to get that #1 back because they’re that obsessed.

TTPD deluxe with 50 new tracks that are all 59 seconds of crunchy voice notes recorded on a potato for texture coming to streaming at midnight tonight! 50 new vinyl variants are also coming to a record store near you!

For real tho, how does charting with physical releases work in a Departement store or like these big electronic shops (we have a lot of them in Germany)? Because recently i see piles of TS vinyls flying around there; Red, the purple one and a million poets. So I was wondering if there are contracts that would make these stores buy a set quantity which then counts as a bulk into the charting. Maybe the “only 4 copy“ policy applies to regular customers only 🤷🏼‍♀️

because no store manager can justify buying 200+ of them at once.

they just get discounted and discounted until the sales become too slow to justify the amount of space they're taking up/the next huge release

and then they get thrown out :cheeky: but that won't happen for yeaaars, they'll just keep restocking her regular taylor swift shelf spot with these

mother, what must i do?

I love to see that two women are in the top 2! And love to see that the onevlike more is at #1

The top 2 females. Overall The Weeknd is No. 1, and they're No. 2 and 3, which is still pretty amazing.

Stores order the amount they anticipate to sell in a certain period of time. I remember there was a lot of talk about Adele's last album being overstocked because there was anticipation that she would sell a lot more.

Nielsen/Luminate and whoever they work with count sales in real time as best as they can and RIAA only counts shipments I think

took her long enough :huntyga: also #1 on monthly listeners but her daily streams are atrocious, wonder how many autoplay related schemes were needed for this pathetic record

thought we were talking about artists overall streams not recent albums?
higher monthly listeners but lower daily streams means only one thing - Autoplay

https://x.com/spotify_data/status/1809132112081228087

Does it though?

It just means that more people are (causally) streaming the album. When you take into account that Taylors album hast x3 the amount of songs it makes perfect sense. More people need to stream billies album the same amount of times to generate the same amount of streams.

Autoplay COULD also be a possible explanation but there is no way to really tell. And to be honest, I get Taylor Swift showed down my throat every other time on spotify even though I don’t even listen to her.
