Americans have (through political apathy) created a situation where they have to vote for a less bad option. There is no world where “both are equally bad” unless you’re choosing to focus on a small handful of issues or just glossing over the topic. Once again, we have to wait for a time when we can put our vote behind someone truly transformative for the better, but unfortunately this is a “save the republic or undo basic rights for minorities” election. We’re voting to keep the lights on rn

I agree nothing can be equally bad, but its not much of a difference for me to choose a side. I know everyone disagrees with me though, and thats totally fine. I think im more focused on the root cause of the problem of the system, and not issues like abortion, LGBTQ+ rights, feminism (Which are also extremely important issues).

This is going to be long, but this makes sense to me.

As terrifying as Project 2025 is, I think it can be interpreted as a logical conclusion to the way the United States is in general, and what its main purpose can be traced back to. It's obvious the role of the US internationally is waning, one way or the other, and Americans are growing impatient.

Both Republicans and Democrats haven't been able to restore the ship's course, and the errors are beginning to be deeply felt even within their own borders. Long gone are the days in which Clinton or Bush could openly boast about doing the "War on Terror" on other countries, and the international community is increasingly building more independent multilateral relations without US involvement.

The decreasing influence of the US internationally brings more scrutiny to its ruling class, more need to cut costs from the state, and an obligation to stop any kind of wealth redistribution, however small it can be. This all in the interest of the ruling class, of course, which is very slowly losing their power abroad.

But this lack of redistribution and the widening of the differences between the rich and the poor under both Democratic and Republican governments can have the power to radicalize the working class, and both political parties and the ruling class know this.

So, in order to prevent it from snowballing out of control like it almost did during the 2020 George Floyd protests, they turn towards drastic measures.

On the one hand, they plant the seeds of divide in their population, turning worker against worker on relatively simple issues like LGBTQ+ rights, abortion, urban-rural divide, etc. This is meant to stop normal people from realizing they have more in common than not.

On the other, they start reducing personal liberties that were once deemed untouchable domestically. Press freedom decreases, freedom of speech too. Books start being banned, people start being ilegally detained without any grounds.

And they present these as being the work of a single party in a system that practically only has two, thus further dividing the population and presenting systemic issues as the fault of a given administration or party. This allows the majority of people to think that voting for the other party will solve those issues, when in reality it only perpetuates them.

An example of this under Biden has been the immigrants' detention centers, which under Trump caused a very public controversy. Under Biden, they remained largely the same but without anyone doing anything about them, or even publicly acknowledging them that much. Under Biden, Democrats also hardened their stance on immigration.

Another example is Roe v. Wade, which was overturned under Biden, despite the Democrats campaigning on its protection and the possibility of someday codifying it. But surprise, surprise, they didn't. And when the consequences arrived, Biden blamed Trump, thus participating in this artificial division of the people.

Julius Caesar and others said that to conquer, one must divide. And it's evident that this is what's happening in the US right now. The US has for a long time reigned supreme on the world stage, sowing terror in third world countries, installing bloody dictatorships, killing millions to further the very selfish interests of its ruling class.

Now, when change is on the horizon, the ruling class is beginning to "tighten the screw" and turning towards its own population in a much more obvious fashion than before. Aimé Cesaire said that fascism is colonialism turned inward, and this is true in the US as well. An imperialist country will, sooner or later, be imperialistic toward their own people. When power abroad is in danger, power within must be protected at all costs.

Not to mention the US is basically a gerontocracy now, a known sign of at least some part of its system malfunctioning in some way.

It happened in Germany as well: when the Communists were preparing to take power, the ruling class moved swiftly to protect their own interests. They first supported traditional politicians like Hindenburg, but when they saw this was not enough, they supported National Socialism, the "crazy" ideology (see Trump), because they saw it as a way to paint fascism in a light that would attract workers, but not let them obtain any kind of meaningful role in politics or the economy.

This is the nature of fascism, which can be defined as capitalism on high alert, and this is what is happening here too.

You can say a lot about Republicans but at least they know how to create a plan and execute it, even if that means playing the long game. Democrats could never. :traumatica:

I've lost all faith in the American people.  I left 5 years ago and whenever I go back to visit, it just seems like everyone is placated and kept at bay with Amazon Prime, sippy cups and excitement over big gas stations.

This is the key fact that people need to remember.

Democrats will bicker amongst themselves over ideals. Republicans, even if they disagree with one another, will fall in line EVERY SINGLE TIME. I can't tell you how many little old Southern church ladies, during the 2016 and 2020 elections, I heard say, "Well, I don't like what Trump says and does, but I will hold my nose and vote for him because it's still better than having a Democrat in office." That's what we're up against.

While the project is a real thought process- it’s not going to happen. Most of those things will not get passed through congress. The spread of the possibility of this happening is now a scare tactic from the left because they don’t believe Joe Biden can pull off a win.

Nah, SCOTUS has effectively unchained the executive branch from the possibility of any criminal liability and Trump (and those in his orbit, including an architect of P2025, Russ Vought) have essentially indicated that Trump’s second term would be “post-constitutional.” You’re working under the pretext that they’re going to abide by the rules when they’ve explicitly indicated that they have every intention of breaking them.

a lot of the leaders within that org have been placed (or are being trained to be) in positions of power to have major influence in our politics; a lot of them helped to overturn Roe v. Wade behind the scenes

so yeah the project may just be a thought process but its also an outline for their leaders to follow

the dems should have a similar outline for progress spread just as far & wide but i digress :alsemanche:

Idk why people are hellbent on trying to downplay Project 2025. Like this is worst case scenario. They've gone mask-off. They barely bothering to hide their intentions. This is the big one.

This is my Hannah Montana™️ lipgloss.
