Honestly I’m pleased with the result. He seems pretty competent and that’s the most important thing for the UK right now.

We spend too much time in our head in the clouds over scapegoat issues that plague many countries right now (Israel, migrants, trans rights). A lot of these issues are vehicles of resentment due to other causes too. 

These issues matter but aren’t realistically ones the country can unify on and solve perfectly. I think the focus on stabilizing the economy, improving healthcare, securing better living standards for all is the foundation we need first. 

With a prosperous society, the UK is much more likely to have an influential say worldwide and reinvest in foreign aid. We’re in a unique position we can gradually leverage to drive change because the rest of the west is several years behind us and are now diving into populism.

i was on the fence the whole election run up until Keir Stamar proved that he’s just a liar and wanted right wing votes just to say he won. 
 

He is disgusting for saying trans women aren’t women and shouldn’t be allowed in women’s spaces AFTER using Brianna Ghey’s murder as a political tool against Sunak. For that reason I voted Green and I hope the next election hurries up so we can get Labour out again and replace them with Green.

Where in the UK are you? Im in Oxfordshire and honestly, the petrol & electric cost spike, which have since gone down, was like the only thing I noticed as being an issue here (Im not rich, I work full time and rent with my friend) I know I dont have some super privalliged life so I think it fair to say - everything is a shell, and nothing works, is not at all true, the NHS have sorted every medical issue ive ever had in my life very well, without cost I dont know if this was purposeful exaggeration, but in times when there are countires living under absoloute terror and carnage, who would give literally anything to be somewhere else, gratitude for what is good (which is plenty in the UK) is espeically important - rather than blanket washing everything truly awful (no shade to you at all - and YAY for the labour win!) x

You live in the affluent shires that get more funding than everywhere else (for literally no reason), so to be honest you are probably clueless to the worst of what the Tories have done  but yes I see your point that we're lucky to have the NHS in the first place etc. However, I have been on a waiting list for an ENT referral since September 2022, and I still have another year to wait. If you've managed to get through the past 14 years unscathed and unaffected by things getting worse then you're either very lucky or very unaware  The fact is that most people are significantly worse off, especially in areas that have been getting less funding

Come to the run down towns in the north west full of derelict buildings, homeless people roaming on drugs, people waiting 8 hours for an ambulance and full time workers being evicted because of the rent increases then we can talk

You dont think I am aware that there is deprivation in literally, every country? I used to live in Walsall - West Midlands. For like, 9 years from 16 until I moved away. My post was stating that the entire country is not broken, not that it is perfect.

After my experience at hospital last year, half of the people there were couldn't even speak English, my experience was horrific and the staff ran around like headless chickens, I do know it's to do with a lack of funding but at the end of the day - less illegal immigrants - less problems.

In fact most of whom who come over on the boats are men leaving the women and children at home. They passed through quite a few countries before here. I don't even care if I sound racist anymore - something needs to change. Don't even get me started on the way my foreign neighbour looks at my 12 year old sister when we walk down the street!

Yeah the illegal immigrants aren't causing the NHS problems considering most of the overcrowding in hospitals is older British people not illegal immigrants, you just said you know it's the lack of funding so why are you blaming the insane workload on the overseas nurses because they haven't fully grasped learning a whole new language yet? 

There's creepy people from every race, tarnishing overseas citizens with the same brush is very ignorant and as you said borderline racist. Your problems are not caused by black and brown people, they're caused by 14 years of Tory rule. Most people I have issue with in the UK are British, we have no values, kids running around with knives causing damage to stuff because of their awful upbringing by British chavvy parents. 

I work with the public in a phone shop and I haven't yet met a legal immigrant who isn't working a 40 hour job contributing to our society. Your comments on illegal immigration are understandable, but labour have a plan to tightly control the gangs of people organising the boat crossings. Reform have no plans and no money, bad idea to vote for them in the first place imo

As a nation we are lazy as f, people constantly complaining about services/how overstretched things are but people don't want to contribute towards making it better themselves. That's why we need immigration as there just aren't enough people willing to educate themselves properly to actually be a doctor or a nurse or whatever

This is it, but then why would people want to train to be a nurse to make 25k when you can earn the same working at Aldi full time, working at Vodafone I earn more than an over worked nurse. This is what I hope labour can fix.

Honestly, the lower wages of the NHS roles compared to the private sector weren't even an issue when medical students had the bursaries etc massively reducing their during & post university debt. 

But the Tories in their infinite wisdom tore up every thing we had in place to support trainee & newly qualified medical staff (and did the same in the teaching profession) and then refused to give them a pay rise to compensate. And then acted surprised when everyone of them ****ed off.

Exactly, they're leaving uni with 50k debt to earn a basic wage as a trained professional it doesn't make sense, that's why we need the international nurses and GPS etc
