I see a lot of people dragging katy for working with you know who, and I agree, she should be called out for that.

However why is this fanbase so quick to point that out and use that as a primary reason to hate on her, when Gaga literally still has R!chie on her team? If you're against both R!chie and L*ke, that's fine. But I feel like yall are just ganging up on her, when our fave has mess to clean up in front of her own door

It doesn't sound like a song that's meant to be funny so this is a bad sign - attempts at comedy were never as funny as she or her team seemed to think they were. But the sad fact is that Katy's attempts at making serious music videos (Thinking Of You, Unconditionally, Rise, Chained To The Rhythm, Never Worn White) just haven't had the success of her sunny pop hits. The only exception to this would be The One That Got Away but that was at the tail end of a mega successful era so that helped (though it was the only single not to go #1). It's not surprising her team believe this stuff is her big selling point. None of her ballads have gone #1 and her most successful videos are the ones with bright colours, crazy imagery, campness and silliness.

But...the catch 22 is, she's now considered too old to do that stuff without being cringey. I've said it many times now - overly relying on the kid demographic was to blame for her career going downhill. The kids grew up and moved on and the adults saw her as an act for kids who wasn't to be taken seriously.
