Is Gaga's voice/singing harsh?

I think it has been a bit harsh sometimes in recent years (Westfield for example), but the last few times I've heard her sing, no, I think a lot of smoothness has come back in. Roll on Vegas and let's see how she does.

Yeah, I noticed that with Chromatica. Her voice seems louder/more vibrant than the music. Its always bothered me a bit but at the end of the day she’s Lady Gaga and I’m just Rayure so she can do whatever she wants

yes, and when it comes to contemporary pop music she is the singer that adds the more distortion and harshness to her voice, at least that i've seen so far, i mean the fry scream she does in bloody mary really impresses me, that technique im only used to listen to in metal or punk rock..

She has this soft yet dark and raspy tone in voice but lately she's been going for a more nasal sound. I remember her talking about how she hated what her voice sounded like on Joanne in one of those Beats 1 interviews for Chromatica so I guess she's going through a phase

I noticed that too! But she's so masterful at what she does it absolutely has to be intentional. I also got the idea that during ASIB Bradley 'taught' her how to sing with passion and emotion and not worry about being pitch perfect of having perfect technique. And she always sounds amazing honestly never had a bad vocal day in her life, but every time I go back to old performances I find myself thinking huh, weird, it seemed SO effortless back then

It’s a bit harsh but I love that about her. Her and Miley’s nasally/raspy/harsh/gritty vocal deliveries is astonishingly amazing to my ears

Her voice is PERFECT.

Of course she did, she sings live.  She did miss a couple performances from 2008 to 2023, especially in 2019 and there’s nothing wrong with that, it’s normal. But it happens to every talented singer every now and then.

She sounded INCREDIBLE during TCB and during the last Vegas shows  She did sound quite loud for Chromatica/LFS but it was a special time for her and there was still a HUGE gap between her and Xtina

her voice has changed quite a bit in 15 years and i think it goes way more into the grittier harsh territory than when she was younger. she can sound strained sometimes
