You really are a special case lmao As I said in the very first sentence, Joe Biden has said he will *not* pardon his own son. Just because you hold office doesn't mean you're above the law. Trump believes he is. And he's said he would pardon the J6 insurrectionists, and has a proven record of pardoning his cronies. Every story in an election year pertaining to either candidate should to be put into the context of the upcoming election. These distraction stories sway voters...Sure, Hunter Biden was charged with 3 felony counts, but the hype surrounding this comes only after Trump was charged with 34. Also, Trump is an actual candidate. Hunter Biden is not. These are important facts to highlight. There is a very clear choice this fall. Joe Biden is *not* equally as bad as Trump. Not even close. In this instance, and pretty much EVERY issue, Biden is head and shoulders a better option than Trump. There is no equivalence between the two. But if you'd like to give me some examples, I'm all ears.

If you DO decide to provide examples, Pharamon, I would politely ask you to provide one -Trump fault for every -Biden fault that you list, to demonstrate that you genuinely appreciate the flaws of both. Not antagonism, merely asking you to show that you actually have balanced, educated perspective.

Ah yes let’s allow a literal fascist (Trump) to win just because we wanna feel ~special~ for not voting Biden. Super smart.
AsleepOnTheCeiling 7,060
I feel like everybody that wants Biden to win in this thread and every other thread on here is just trying too hard to excuse Biden's faults or invalidate the feelings of those that have reservations on him. And I feel like that irks me more than anything. It's not hard to admit that Biden has done a LOT of wrong in his political career, in pretty much every office he's held. It's also not hard to highlight how Biden is a better pick on pretty much every issue facing anybody that's not a hardcore right winger. They're not mutually exclusive. Putting on blinders and acting like a Biden crusader against people who aren't even passionately for Trump does nobody good. And it's how we've all gotten to this great divide to begin with in this country.

And I feel like that irks me more than anything. I can only speak for myself, but I’m not trying to excuse Biden’s faults. I wish he wasn’t my president. I wish Bernie Sanders was my president. I wish Hillary Clinton was my president. But I’m also trying to prevent anyone from thinking it’s okay to believe Joe Biden is the same as Donald Trump, or even in the same ballpark. And yes, dragging Biden online WILL lead some people to believe that misconception. Unless/until I’m banned, I will continue to point that out to anyone who seems to forget it. At least until after the election. Because there is too much at stake (he said for the umpteenth time). 31 minutes ago, TortureMeOnReplay said: Putting on blinders and acting like a Biden crusader against people who aren't even passionately for Trump does nobody good. The only people seemingly putting on blinders are the ones who insist on dragging Biden in contexts where there is no need to (ie threads about Trump, Biden’s son who is not a politician, etc). Conversation is crucial, but by pointing out Biden’s missteps as a politican, these people are potentially influencing others to not vote, or to vote for Trump, because of things they don’t like about Biden. That is reckless and pointless as not only does it ACCOMPLISH NOTHING, it also GAMBLES WITH A LOT. The divide, at least on this website, is because of the "but Biden..." bitches. No one else. If I may be so bold, who are you voting for, @TortureMeOnReplay... and why? Serious question. You'd think it would be obvious, but it isn't to me......... We just know that he’s (unfortunately) the better of the two evils. Seeing people proudly state that they’re not voting him, even tho it means giving Trump a leg-up, is so saddening to see. Hate Biden all you want (trust me most of us do too) but to act like Trump is comparably the same is… dishonest at best.

Biden isn't "the lesser of two evils", he's just a stepping stone to the type of leader we all actually want. He's one step forward while Trump (any Repuke, actually) is 15 steps back. Only taking one step at a time may be infuriatingly slow but progress is progress and slipping up could mean having to redo everything our respective communities have worked decades for. If we reelect him this year, in 2028 we can try for an even more progressive candidate. Then reelect them in 2032 and make sure we give them as many allies as possible in congress and in local elections. Y'all have to stop catastrophizing. Biden is a tool for us to use, he's a wide to bide time and stave off the rise of a potential American dictator, he's not a solution to any one grievance we have about how this country is run. Shocking that someone focused on the Hillary part, of all that I said. I meant: I wish Bernie or Hillary had won in the first place, over Trump, in 2016, avoiding him ever being in office. The way I wish Gore had won. I don't like Hillary. Genuinely not sure why you tagged/responded to me, and not one of the people questioning Biden. Everything you just said are things I've already implied or outright said, myself. And no, I'm not catastrophizing. Because, as you yourself pointed out in the very next sentence, he is the only way to prevent a potential dictatorship. But what do I know? Forgive me for ruffling feathers. Maybe it’s the personality disorders, maybe it’s the “unresolved academic praise kink,” maybe its a near-constant urge to make people regret their avoidable mistakes ASAP lol, or maybe it’s… what was that other thing…? Oh yeah, an overwhelming fear of a second Trump presidency & an alt-right America. It may only be a four year term, but god knows what could be changed in those 4 years because of him/the people he empowers. Why f*ck around and find out, right? So- because like many others on here- you have now taken a risk by stating otherwise, I'll correct you: For the time being, Biden IS in fact, the lesser of two evils. MOT 3,679
If you have a vote in November's election, what are your options ? I can think of five. Vote Biden Vote Trump Vote Kennedy Spoil your vote, e.g. write in somebody else. Don't vote at all. One of the candidates, Trump, wants to take those options away from you. He wants to make it so that it doesn't matter what you and the other 150m people do with your votes. Trump tried to stay on as President after he lost the 2020 election. He attempted to stop the peaceful, legal transfer of power to the guy who did win, Biden, and in terms of the upcoming election, nothing else matters. NOTHING. The election is not about Joe Biden. It is about the concept of elections themselves. Do you want to have elections in 2028, 2032, 2036 etc where your vote matters, where the result isn't known in advance ? If so, then Trump has to be defeated this year. That's what the 2024 election is about. If you have a vote in November, please vote for Biden and all Democrat candidates down the ballot.
