Gagaism 9,918
5 minutes ago, Mister Gaga said: could you tell me why is it subversive/disruptive? Not being ironic or shady, i'm honestly wondering it. I like the record. But i do not consider, neither the music, release strategy or political ground, as subversive (against who? against what? where we expecting something different from Charli? doesn't brat sounds like something only Charli could make?). If anything, i find it a transparent Charli xcx record. From what I’ve seen so far through reactions and stuff, people are really impressed by her lyrics on this album. Everyone is talking about her way of being so vulnerable in the middle of those crazy and heavy beats so I think that’s probably the/or one of disruptive aspects of it. ALGAYDO 29,914
Imagine that brat gets a Grammy AOTY nom? The biggest win for gays since Gaga got her first noms tbh 5 1
Mister G 10,022
It's a really fun album, and right now it would seem people want pop music to be risky but also rhythmic that gets people moving. Brat did that, and this was a gamble for Charli this era. I know I'm gonna get dragged for this, but Charli did with Brat what Dua Lipa tried but couldn't quite nail with Radical Optimism. Brat isn't the best body of work, but I will say I have had it on replay for a few days and it delivers. 1 3
gumzy3000 6,921
Brat is a masterpiece. I did not expect the song "I Think About it All the Time" to talk about the idea of running out of time in having a child and the insecurities you get as you see your friends become parents and feeling like your missing out on something important in life. I did not expect a rave/club album from Charli XCX to tackle such a topic. This is just one example... I think critics were surprised at her vulnerability in this album and the fact she has humanized herself among some of the catchiest and electric club beats. Critics love it when artists present themselves in different perspectives, especially when it doesn't typically fit in with that artists brand. trolly troll troll 5 1 1

BleepBloop 10,313
Sooooooo happy that Charli FINALLY got her f*cking flowers with this one. Idk why some of you are so pressed, the album is brutally honest and immaculately produced. and please chill out with the Billie album, because that one really actually isn't anything special - except if you're a top 40-pop stan, then I can see how that album would seem groundbreaking.. The only worthy successor to these two previous 94s Edited June 11 by BleepBloop
