I love her, but I'm afraid she simply can't compete in the MPG leagues anymore. Her last hit was when? Her last album was when? If she was seriously going to make a comeback to music, it would have to be huge. And I just don't think she has the passion for it. Nah you're trippin. It's Rihanna. Any song she does now will blow tf up no matter what. But ye she defo doesn't have the passion for it anymore. Real shame cuz I loved ANTI. The music would have to be incredible. Dude Taylor is the biggest artist in the world rn and her music is terrible All Rihanna would need is a slick little catchy bop to grab the whole public and radio by the balls. And she's always been good at doing very current stylish bops due to her thousands of writers lol So ye, 'Fart It Up, Ball Out' #1 hit of 2025 Edited June 7, 2024 by Gorehound I'm fine, Ta 1

Girl released her last album more than 8 years ago and is the 5th most listened to artist in the world on Spotify still. I have no doubt in my mind she would do better than Taylor. She released 'Lift Me Up' 2 years ago and everyone has already forgotten about it she isn't 5th most listened on Spotify. this is number of monthly listeners and it has nothing to do with daily streams. Lana is #40 but she gets more daily streams than Rihanna. She won't do better that Taylor. She never was album seller artist.

I would argue monthly listeners are more important than daily streams since that still means more people are listening to her versus a smaller audience who streams an artist religiously. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying her music would shake the world. It's her mere comeback. It would be an actual cultural event. People who don't listen to her would check her new album out just because.

It would be arrogant of her to assume she could just appear after (how many years absent?) and get a #1. Rihanna is currently #5 for the most listeners per month. She was 4th until Billie moved up recently. And that's 84.86 million listeners without an album since 2016. 5 of her songs still have a daily stream count of over 1 million. Rihanna could fart into a microphone tomorrow, put it on Spotify and outstream a lot of people's faves.

I agree that the longer she waits, the worse the impact will be but she just did the Superbowl last year so the demand is definitely there. It might not be with younger GenZ and GenAlpha, but it's there.
