I’ll say it: Solar Power is a lovely, soothing album and people need to stop expecting these artists to keep repeating themselves.

solar power was a really cute, chill summer album

mood ring was the only song i didn't like

i get it was supposed to be satire but putting a track with joke lyrics on your album is not something i would do

From my understanding, she is a spiritual person, but parts of the album were satirizing wellness culture (crystals, stones, sage, etc.).

only mood ring did that i think?

I don't understand the hate people have for Solar Power. I actually think it is better than most of Melodrama tbh, and I quite like that album as well.

Solar Power killed all the hype and love I had for her to be honest, but I'm still looking forward to her next project.

Time. It will not wait, no matter how hard you hold on...

See I think it was genius bc it was satirical and funny but also showed a light on the inner sadness those women face and how wellness culture doesn’t really stop any of that despite promoting it does. It was a lovely means of getting that message across imo

Domino also did but more acerbically about an individual whereas mood ring was a bit of a wider take

Everytime I think of Lorde I think of cursive singing. Never understood the hype around her.

Interesting, that's my favorite song on the album.

I feel like Lorde is running out of relatable things to write about unless she's going to repeat a theme from a previous album. Which I think happens to a lot of artists , so I hope this next theme is something fresh.

some of the themes in Solar Power's music video already depict the wellness stuff, whether it's satire is up to interpretation i guess.

I’m always down for music from Lorde. Solar Power wasn’t my fave but it still had some good songs. From the new stuff she performed a while back, it sounded promising

Seeing this (inaccurate) comment and remembering how feral you went when anyone even mildly criticized Dua Lipa is too much :icant:

Let's hope this one is a return to form because Solar Power was a disaster and I am saying this as a Lorde fan

Hey, I'm king of the world, you ought to hear my song, you come on measure me, I'm twenty inches long
