After over a decade of being up in the air, Bonnie Mckee's long awaited album Hot City has finally arrived. She was initially set to release it ten years ago in 2014, but due to label disputes the release never happened. The album was preceded by the singles "SLAY", "Hot City", "Don't Get Mad Get Famous", and "Jenny's Got a Boyfriend". The album was also technically preceded by the Hot 100 hit single "American Girl" back in 2013 (among other songs), which is included on the album. "SLAY" itself dates back to 2014 prior to Bonnie Mckee leaving Kemosabe records. The album was re-recorded in 2021-2023 and got influence from a forum discussing the then abandoned project. The only song not from this period is "Snatched, which is from 2018.

Bonnie Mckee is known for being one of the most important writers of the early 2010's. She wrote for/with Katy Perry, Britney Spears, Rita Ora, Ava Max, and many others. She has multiple number ones and top tens in the US, the UK, and many more countries world wide off of her writing. Cheers to the long awaited album!

well all the songs on the album were written from around 2012-14 (except snatched which was written in 2016 i believe) she's saving new material for her third album which likely will come out 2025
