So girlies, if Lady Gaga went this route what would you want? 

1. Self-explanatory

2. Again self-explanatory. Keep in mind that I'm not including specific territories (Like with Britney Spears Circus) because I know that can have better reasoning.

3. Basically selling the album with tour tickets and/or merch to boost sales, except without the tour even being announced which makes the cash grab look more obvious (à la Travis Scott).

4. This requires a bit of explaining. Basically some artists managements (notably Beyoncés) have released deluxe editions that were already available while being branded as new. The majority of the deluxe tracks from I Am... Sasha Fierce were already available on their own separate deluxe editions, then in 2009 they were all reissued on the parent album. The same thing happened with 4 where all the deluxe tracks were released in an "expanded edition" later on in 2011 that had no new material at all.

I want more than 5 editions for each physical media. A 12 inxh/picture dics single vinyls like Stupid Love & Rain On Me promo. I definitely want zoetrope design vinyl for the alboom, among all the others.

JK I think Chromatica’s variants were nice (except for the clear vinyl/picture disk, I didn’t like that one) and weren’t too scammy. YES she bundled albums with jockstraps and plastic boots but it was done humorously so I didn’t mind it. I wouldn’t be very happy if she went absolute TS with this album though.

At worst I expect her to open with min 150k so idk if we need to get desperate 

It may debut with underwhelming streaming numbers though. I regret to say it but I don’t see much buzz outside the fanbase so far

The deluxe artbook edition of Chromatica was actually pretty neat, but I wish it wasn't just a tad bigger than jewel cases, it doesn't fit neatly in my collection and made me consider buying the regular edition.

You joke but I'm quite positive they'll be some degree of variants with the album. It's quickly becoming the standard for roll out now that physical copies have become a hot commodity again. Whether or not this will be just different colored discs, bonus tracks, or new covers I'm not sure but I'd be genuinely shocked to see just one straight version of the album.

I think for Gaga the tour bundle would make the most sense because she has older fans that will buy that.

 

i also think it just makes sense to sell a copy of an album so even your casual fans know the material when they show up and aren’t surprised when it’s not just “poker face” and “bad romance”
