Because it is an act of threatening to pop girls, or to certain fanbase when the artist is known to be fellow MPG, or the MPG threatens ths straight' faves for fhe chart by releasing new stuffs, depends on context really, anything goes

But but but there was this one headline years ago that said ‘Jessie j threatens to release new music’ and I’m pretty sure it stemmed from that bc I love Jessie but her music isn’t a threat to anyone haha
