It depends on the tier. Are you on the ultimate ad free?

My only criticism is the HORRENDOUS tuning on her voice :awkney:

I actually thought her voice was almost identical to the actual LA show. Bit confused by the voice editing comments tbh.

Personally also really enjoyed the additional vocals added to some songs because it gave them a slight cinema edge, no?

Voice is edited, as I thought it would've been. Anyway

As usual, watching Gaga perform is a true pleasure, an experience to remember. No matter if live, or in a recording, she simply got that spark! And after all this time, the Chromatica Ball concert got my passion for her music reignited. My only criticism is the HORRENDOUS tuning on her voice :awkney:

I get that it is industry standard, and every artist wants their performance to be as pristine and flawless as possible, but I simply can't handle that wobbly, robotic, dull sounding mess of a vocal in this concert film. It's so bad at times, like during the second half of ARUTW, there is a massive glitch in her voice. I have watched numerous fan recorded videos of this particular show to compare, and there was nothing wrong with her voice. Imperfection is what makes a human singers voice sound ALIVE and SOULFUL. So, please, Gaga, in the future: YOU DON'T NEED PITCH CORRECTION! It kills the feelings your voice is able to evoke in us.

100% agree. She is such an incredible vocalist, and it jus takes me RIGHT out of the performance very time I hear the auto tune wobble. I love the film, but I genuinely can’t stop noticing how often her voice sounds auto tuned.

And she always does her concerts raw, and sounds amazing, so I’m baffled why she thinks this was a good choice :messga:

I'm finally watching it and reliving this amazing tour.

So far the only thing I noticed was how quiet the audience was during ARUTW compared to Paris or Arnhem. It wasn't as emotional and powerful as I remember it from those dates. Audience seems it a bit more tame in general.

I'm so happy for this tour to be documented, so many great memories.

I was there and we were loud. It’s editing

Am I the only one who doesn't hear autotune? Cept for the obvious additional vocals added in editing.

Aw too bad they did that. I think the shape of the stadium also plays a part. In Europe the audience seated on the sides and back is closer to the center and the stage and therefor the mics I guess.

I really loved how in Arnhem and Paris the audience sang the last line and was looking forward seeing it here, but I guess Gaga didn't let you LOL cause she started talking.

According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch

I can say with 99% confidence that they’ve added some kind of melodyne/autotune to the vocal for the film. Stupid Love is the best example, imo. When she hits a slightly bum note on “kinda hard to *believe*” the vocal correction glitches and actually makes the note sound more sour than it would’ve without it and also gives it a robotic texture (similar for the first “freak out, freak out” where you can tell the vocal wasn’t as open, the vocal correction attempted to spread out the closed vocal and it sounds tinny/robotic). From there, as a singer, the main tell to me is that a lot of what this vocal correction software seems to be doing is evening out her pitch and her tone, which sometimes results in other weird glitches when she, let’s say, doesn’t sing a vowel as open as she ordinarily would or has some very human error (a slight crack on a vocal run or something), the pitch correction doesn’t really know how to process that and so it splits the difference on resonance if it’s too closed or overcorrects if there’s a slight pitch issue.

That being said, I think the overall sound engineering is good (I like the placement of the backing vocals and the way that the band is prominently featured). After listening to those fan clips in LA, I just wish they would’ve laid off the pitch/vocal correction because she really didn’t need it.

Agreed. Maybe if they had filmed a couple of shows, they would’ve had a few more takes of each song and so she wouldn’t have felt compelled to pitch correct as much.

There’s some slight moments of cleaning up but I feel its most obvious in the finale. However when you remember the actual videos of it live she did actively use an autotune effect on her voice in the finale  so i think them trying to remove as much of it as possible kind of made the corrections more obvious. There’s a few failed runs in rain on me that I think Gaga probably kept possibly from a realism perspective from being a performer. However I also think the comments are making it seem like it was worse than it actually is. She used a lot of effects live and i think they just translated over a certain way in post production.
After hearing about her performing with covid though, My hunch she had some form of long covid affecting her breathing/voice are confirmed I fear. She still sounded great nonetheless. Not shouty, still supported for most of the show. They also cleared up the 2nd verse on Rain on Me so well, I could never hear it clearly in any audience recording or even the soundboards for that matter.
