Poll: WeirdGa is BACK, How do you feel?

Without going on a diatribe no one wants to read, I could not be more hyped. I’m not saying ARTPOP act 2, cause even as an ARTPOP stan I agree that ppl need to let that go. But these looks have an energy I haven’t truly felt from Gaga since ARTPOP. She’s seemed kinda numb after ARTPOP unless she was doing Jazz. It’s also an amazing evolution, but I also hope for more of a Bjork influence than Gaga going metal. I think a full-metal Gaga album is the one thing I couldn’t really enjoy, since it’s the only genre I don’t connect well with. I’m open minded to metal and rock influence, even a rock album that isn’t metal, but I doubt she would pivot that hard. I’m so stoked to see where it goes though, and also praying we’re talking more Beyoncé genre bending… and not Radical Optimism. 

P.S. to Mrs. Carter…… you have a message on line one and a follow up call to make gurl. It seems like stars and inspiration may be lining up for act 3. We’d love to break the internet 15 years later!

Omg big same! This is a reach but I'm imagining industrial-rock-funk(Prince) fusion in a pop lense. But tbh I'm ready for her to up the ante like a double album or visual album and QUALITY from top to bottom

Probably an unpopular opinion, but I never believed for a second that Gaga’s avant gaurde side had disappeared. I just genuinely believe she has spent years building her legacy and brand back up after her 2013 popularity crash.

Now everyone does sort of the same thing, and she’s happier within herself and her life I really feel like she’s ready to give the world what it needs rn which is a weirdo again. I hope we get weird music to match the aesthetic.

And on a personal note, I could SENSE something was/is coming because I always seem in sync with Gaga. I’ve personally had a change of happiness, style, lifestyle and music taste lately and it all aligns with what she’s giving. So if we’re really synced up I’m expecting clean but Punk looks and Techno music.

Kind of beautiful how she started the era with this stripped down version when the era is actually the complete opposite 

I always thought that based on the original artwork the album, her comments at Swinefest and the era as a whole she was supposed to be far more glam and stripped back to let the music be the focus. Essentially making herself a blank canvas.

But then I think she got caught up in behind the scenes stuff and her label made a push for her to keep her “Gaganess” when really she didn’t want to do that at that point.

I love when she’s weird. Now with this Im confident WeirdGa is never that far away with her. I was worried during the whole “Gaga has an inspiration “*snaps fingers* “cut off denims and tshirts!” Joanne thing, and then she was all full glamour for ASIB, which was still amazing, but I missed her weird outfits. WeirdGa forever.

So true. And even though I loved a lot of the Chromatica looks, they were still, I don't know how to say it, like too normal? TCB outfits were more of what I was expecting for the MV and era. But some of the Chromatica MV looks were not that...weird. They were edgy but not weird.

Def agree. I was really thinking she was losing her “edge” and going more normal mainstream. There’s the danger that these fits are a one-night one-off, but I really don’t think so. I think it’s in her blood.

SL video felt so fan service yet it ended up doing the opposite. I loved ROM aesthetics tho. 911 not so much, but you can tell she was really into it.

It was honestly so long since I saw the performance, and I genuinely don’t recall a lot of 2020-2021, but the mask stuck for sone reason. Looking at photos of the outfits from that night I actually like most of them. Stupid love bodysuit is giving Zenon, but I kinda vibe with that in a campy sci-fi way. I LOVE the moon man Area outfit and Iris Van Herpen look, but I cannot stand the horned mask with the green dress. Stupid Love always worked for me because I used to love old school Godzilla and b-rated sci-fi, but it’s definitely a dividing aesthetic.

I truly feel that Chromatica was the death of something for her and an awakening at the same time. LG7 is gonna be a whole rebirth for her. It feels like she’s spiritually back to her true essence, but in a more evolved form. Truly fascinating.

Oh sure! Her talent is the most important part and it still shines when she’s going basic look. What I meant was that most people noticed her stepping up to the scene in the wildest fashion. This day felt very nostalgic
