Thank god, I hate HATE backstage footage in concert films, ireally like to just experience the full show like this one and the taylor concert movies.

that's just not happening. otherwise HBO would premiere it in selected theaters following an online release. it's going to be on MAX and that's all, which is completely fine and enough, the tour is 2 years old a completely different scenario from Renaissance or The Eras Tour.

This is the first review I’ve been able to find for Gaga Chromatica Ball film.
He liked it but he would have preferred scenes from different concert dates mixed in rather than it just being one date and he wanted backstage scenes. He thought Renaissance film was better.

Beyonce's resources are insane tbh, and as much as I admire her, I think it's unrealistic to expect most artists to replicate that kind of energy. Honestly I think we need to cut Gaga some slack. She's obviously trying to make things happen. She's doing a lot too. She's taking things into her own hands and she's an artist who crosses genres, forms, industries. If we expected perfection in everything Gaga does she'll just shelf them.

Let's also not forget that Beyonce and Taylor are musicians full time who stick to one industry.

I agree. Gaga is a true multi-hyphenate who seems equally passionate about her film and beauty careers.  But I actually think this film will be amazing. A lot of concert films focus on one date, it’s actually the norm to identify what show is being documented. And I don’t even want backstage which makes it more of a documentary, sometimes I just want the unbroken energy of the concert itself. So I don’t think I even agree with this review but I can’t really say yet as I haven’t seen the film.

Idk, I ultimately like the continuity of it being one date, but I also do think there’s a benefit to stitching together a couple dates because you have more takes to pull from. But I’m sure it’s gonna be fab
