Yes that’s how voting kinda goes. We could feel that less if people were more engaged outside of voting day and better candidates went through earlier phases, but ultimately this is and has been the process for well over a century now.

This! It isn’t even a “lesser than two evils” argument at this point.

Our entire world will change overnight if he’s re-elected. All of us LGBTQIA+ family, our BIPOC friends, women, immigrants, educators, on and on will be the first to feel their unchecked power/hate. 

And yes, this is also the reality NOW with Biden as a president, but the difference is we have authority and voices to protect each other. If Trump is back in office, he and the GOP will make sure everything and everyone is silenced so they can wreak havoc.

The only particularly valid critique I can see for Biden is his support of Israel’s siege on Gaza (but even in that regard, his attempts to de-escalate are often flattened). I feel that most people are either: somewhat unrealistically critiquing him from the left [critiquing him for failing to enact progressive policies unilaterally] or begrudging the optics of having a seemingly senile man as the President. Biden is, imo, a very middle of the road President and his “failings” are largely overstated because of how polarized the country is and how reactionary the American electorate has become.
