Trump to appoint extreme MAGA judges as young as possible, if elected

Yeah, it’s very possible that, in a second Trump term, he’d have the opportunity to appoint 3 Justices to the Supreme Court: Alito and Thomas, both in their early 70s, would be more open to stepping down under a conservative admin and Sotomayor has reportedly been dealing with serious health problems, so we could be dealing w/ another RBG situation there. This dude cannot win. Full stop.

This is why I get so pissed off at the dems/liberals/left-wingers that are so open and proud for not voting Biden. “Biden is terrible!” Yes, I agree, he is, BUT TRUMP IS 1000X WORSE :saladga: this country and its people are insane

What I'm curious about will those people end up voting for Biden or actually skip the election, because to me it sounds they're really reinforced in their belief that Biden and Trump are the same.

Example here:

I will say it again:

Biden could be a terrible president he’s still better than Trump and what he will do.

This is a BINARY choice. Trump or Biden. There is no in between. The course of this country for potentially a generation hinges on one of these men.

Those of you who won’t vote or want to play around with third candidates who will 100% not win…. time to wake up. And if you do… hope you live in a heavily blue or red state where it won’t make much of a difference.

I used to be one of those people who could not bring myself to vote for Biden but over time I have realized that Trump is way too big of a threat to ignore and needs to be prevented from winning at all cost and that is why I will be voting blue come November

Here is your throat back, thanks for the loan

Reason number 96 why the only smart choice at the polls is (unfortunately) Biden. As if we needed another one.

So like. Are we just gonna have to vote for the lesser of two evils every 4 years? Because I kind of wanna bet that if Trump loses in 2024 he'll run again in 2028.

Biden should appoint some judges before he goes then, why leave it to Trump?

We were afraid last time he was elected? We're all really f.ucked this time. It's over. Unless he d*es before election date we are in HUGE trouble. We are still feeling the negative effects from the last time he was in power and this time he's fired up to go 10x as hard. Not to mention tensions around the war. I wouldn't be surprised if he pushes us into world war 3.

And if not that, then Americans can look forward to losing all of their rights. Watch the country develop 3rd world country slums, murder rates skyrocket, worsening gun violence, LGBTQ+ and poc being targeted and even killed, having all the progress of the last decade wound back, racial segregation, women's bodily autonomy completely taken away, the list of possibilities is endless. It's going to be a psycho religious extremist conservatives wet dream

And in turn this will affect the whole world, because unfortunately American society and culture influences culture everywhere else. We are screwed.

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Not really how that works. Biden has already appointed around 200 judges (including one Supreme Court Justice) to the bench during this term, but future vacancies aren’t necessarily predictable, so he wouldn’t be able to stack federal districts/circuits proactively. Also: two of the oldest Justices on the Supreme Court (Alito and Thomas) are right wing ideologues who would likely never step down unless they knew the sitting President would appoint equally conservative successors; so were they to wait until Trump is potentially elected to step down, Trump would have the opportunity to find the youngest, most radically conservative prospects and appoint them for a lifetime on the bench, meaning the current SCOTUS conservative supermajority, which could end once Alito and Thomas either step down or die, would likely be extended for another few *decades*.

What’s more, Sotomayor, a liberal Obama appointee to the Supreme Court, has been having serious health issues and could very well die during a potential Trump presidency (much like Ginsburg died during Trump’s tenure), giving Trump the opportunity to appoint yet *another* very young, very radical Justice to the bench for life. This last scenario could, hypothetically, be avoided if Sotomayor stepped down while Biden was still President, but conservatives see appointing Justices to the Supreme Court as a zero sum game and would block any nominee put before the Senate, claiming it’s “too close to the election” (which, unfortunately, they have enough seats to do). So, in short, there isn’t really much Biden could do to prevent any damage Trump might do to the judiciary on his way out, so our best bet is to ensure that Trump doesn’t get back in.
