I think they added the effects because she’s literally standing in place until Replay. It would be boring on film, especially with our damaged attention spans.

I do find the effects a bit jarring since there’s no sound effects. Usually glitch effects would have glitch sounds lol…

Ok the close-up rumbling effect works so much better than the glitches did for Replay 

It accentuates the led lighting and flames amazingly

There are lots of ways of making the performance engaging. You just need to have a good cut rhythm. There’s the dancers, the band, the fans, the long shots of the stage, the pyro. Not just Gaga. The effects are not necessary to make it engaging. Worst case scenario, they could just cut the song in half like they did with DITD for the Monster Ball.

Something to consider with the effects also is that these are formatted for the vertical format and we can only see so much of the entire shot. I’m sure that with more horizontal space the effects would be a lot less jarring if they feel that way to you now

There’s a couple cool shots but overall this stage just doesn’t film well. Its shape just doesn’t allow for great angles because distant side shots are impossible. Its gonna be very front facing shot heavy which is quite flat and boring visually (and likely why these effects were added if they remain in the final film). 

I wouldn’t judge something like this from a 9:16 30 seconds teaser… There were tons of cameras including those sliding ones across the runways and some side shots were actually displayed during the live concert. There were also cameras on the roof of the stage and on the second level of the stage facing the croud. There were drones, cameramen walking across the stage and also closeups to the live instuments, which I all find very cool. I don’t know, let’s reserve this type of comments for when the concert film is fully available

I'm fascinating by the idea of it having a music video feeling, I'm really surprised the fans are suggesting they would prefer just a live concert film. Perhaps I'm cheap, but I am so into the editing.
