I still don't know why she took so long.  I think about it now, and lowkey get mad. People are going to think she's ripping off Beyonce or whatever too when she did a lot of that imagery before. Chromatica is four years old. I don't understand her ways. Her moving soo slow is very frustrating to watch.

Maybe finding a distributor took a long time? There was also that strike last year that may have had an affect on the release.

It took awhile, but maybe waiting till Joker/LG7 hype was kind of smart 🤔  maybe

That’s my thought too. Maybe distribution negotiations took longer than usual (I remember hearing rumors of an Apple TV deal at one point, so maybe they went back and forth), plus the strike…. but I do feel like there’s a reason they landed on May vs like January or the fall. The most obvious reason for the timing is to build hype for a new pop era, but if she drops this special then disappears til Joker I’ll be pretty disappointed (yeah there’s Vegas but sister can multitask)

That would make sense, but why do i feel like it's another fortnite situation where they're just getting these old deals over with.  She really could've had this out by December 2022. I can't with her.  I don't understand her reticence with releasing tours.

Well she edited the CBT film and was prepping and filming Joker 2 until April 2023. She most likely didn't start editing until after and took her time with it. It's finally almost here so the complaining is unnecessary at this point. It's literally here. She wasn't going to release it when she just started filming for Joker 2 in December 2022 and Fall 2023 is when both Beyonce and Taylor released their concert movies in theatres. A summer 2024 release makes more sense when you realize she's been working on the album and will be back in promo mode soon for Joker 2. This is the perfect way to keep her momentum going after the trailer for J2 and hopefully some new music soon.

Also MAX is now available in more countries like countries in the Caribbean and South America and more European countries will soon follow. So it's strategically being released now after the rebranded streaming service was only available in the US last year.

I think it will take one single comment from an informed person to shut these rumors. At the end of the day the reality is TCB came earlier.
