The Switch came out in March tho. 

My guess is they where specific enough to mention before the end of the fiscal year which is March 2025 so they will announce it then. Have the gap between announcement and release be like the switch,  which was 5 months and have the Switch 2 drop around Sept of 2025,  closer to ride the holiday 2025 wave.

I was gagged for a min but realistically this doesn’t mean that much:

- Confirms an ANNOUNCEMENT by March 2025

- Does NOT confirm it’s a Switch 2 like we hope

- Hints that we’ll hear about it by fall the earliest 

But this is notable as it’s the first time they acknowledged the Switch has to be replaced so yas

Although it's plastic, it is quite durable (except for the Joy-con which are a disaster). Switch OLED does feel a lot more premium compared to the regular one

This! I got my second switch when the Oled TOTK edition came out and it feels so much more nicer in quality (I did get my first one on launch day) 

As long as they boost the specs so it can run games better and they put out new JoyCons that hopefully won't develope JoyCon drift then they'd be golden and wouldn't need to do an overhaul or new gimmic.

I'd expect this new system to have "new features" that are just re-used 3DS features.
I'd expect a new 3D Mario and Metroid Prime 4 as launch titles.

I probably won't be sold on it by launch titles alone. I need this system to be portable, compatible with Switch games and to enhance them.

durable where? my joycons didn't even last 6 months before breaking and they cost £70ish to replace

Re-used 3DS features would honestly be a serve. The nostalgia I have for that console. I still have my AC:NL edition 3DS XL.
