PartySick 144,800
Wait, Copacabana Beach shows actually hold a few records though. Rod Stewart with 4+ million, The Rolling Stones with 1.6 million, I didn't know this was even a thing Damn you, Michael why'd you never do festival styled shows?!

Rod Stewart’s concert wasn’t standalone as it was a part of Rio’s city wide New Years Eve celebration and part of the attendance figures are also attributed to people arriving for the fireworks after his show (according to Guinness World Records). It’s a very specific technicality for sure, though. He still remains the #1 overall with a mind boggling figure. She’s just #1 for female artists and for a show not attached to a wider event. Though The Rolling Stones’ show could also have them and Madonna at a tie but we won’t know for sure because the figures for both of them are estimates. All we have officially is LiveNation’s reporting on Madonna’s. Edited May 5 by Future Lovers

I'm still skeptical but I think it's just because I don't like Madonna and also everyone can hold a record if you put enough technicalities on it but saying that makes me sound bitter when I don't actually mind it 'cause she's undeniably a legend

I definitely think she’s safely #1 in terms of female artists and most likely in terms of largest concerts this century, so for that I’m happy to have her be an overall second to Rod Stewart. I’ll happily as a stan take the #1 on technicality too, but either way it’s sliced I think it’s a nice gem to add to her crown. And I think we can agree, even though we feel very differently about her, it’s nice to see a woman this far into her career, at this age, at a time where women are seeing so much pushback on the progress they’ve been able to make for the last several decades have this moment. And on top of it, with a show that so prominently features LGBTQ+ performers and history within it reaching a worldwide broadcast audience. Quasi 10,798
Question for people who have attended shows with this big of a crowd or comparable - do you even feel like you’re at a concert if you’re far away? Like are people still vibing to the music when they can’t even see the performer? Is the music loud? From the above video it almost just looks like a ginormous crowd with the concert in the background, almost taking second place to just the huge grouping of people. I don't understand pineapples, so I don't eat bananas.

And the attendance figure includes people who only turned up after for the fireworks. Madonna's concert is being differentiated as it was purely a Madonna sspectacle.

Fr it took me a bit to actually realise where the stage even was in the video until they started to zoom on it Born This Way Ball - 20/6/12 | artRAVE: The ARTPOP Ball - 30/8/14 | LA To The Moon Tour - 2/4/2018

Monet 820
Watched the whole show with my mother and brother on the TV. It was magical seeing my mom recognizing the 80's songs from her youth and trying to sing along (it was also hilarious seeing her schocked with some of the things Madonna did in the stage )
