RAMROD 104,086 Posted May 4 Share Posted May 4 This Spring-Summer seasons of 2024 supposed to be amazing, music wise, with plenty of major MPG releases. Yet, only ONE releases, (Cowboy Carter), actually blows it out of the water so far, while 1, (Eternal Sunshine ), is just getting lukewarm albeit positive reception, and 3 others, (Las Mujeres, TTPD, Radical Optimism), fumbled their expectations by being forgettable and underwhelming. Yes, I know, some of you are enjoying these not well reviewed albums, but in general consensus, these albums are not doing very well. Is this our reality now? Or is there still chance for Pop music to get super big again this year? And who will make that happen? River 104,767 Posted May 4 Share Posted May 4 I have a confession to make Daughter from CC is slaying me left and right and I didn't expect this at all More than that, my husband cried listening to it Like first listen is was a skip after 2 seconds but I've been trying to randomly give a chance to CC (DESPITE ALL U OF U SAYING I HATE BEYONCE BUT I'M NOT), I think as a whole body of art, it's too much for me, but as part of a playlist, I find it easier to listen to the songs here and there and discover them.. so this is what I'm doing right now. Eternal Sunshine - I skip the trap songs but I like the rest of the songs, they are on repeat. Dua - 2nd listen is approaching. Billie - I REALLY liked the snippets so I hope it will not be end up in a disappointment, I'm not a Billie fan and I found her last 2 album not for me, I do recognize her talent though, so I believe that she will be the biggest surprise this year.
