Currently listening, it's really a summer album.

I also like the vibe. 2 weeks ago we had TTPD which was dark and sometimes depressing. Radical Optimism lifts you back up, puts you in the sun while a summer breeze passes by.

this was very disappointing ngl :/

i wanted to like it, as i stan her other albums and LOVE all three singles but it feels like those were def the standout tracks on the album. It’s very summery and vibey which i love but i do wish there was just…idk MORE to it. Future Nostalgia had very strong and unique production, the lyrics were fun and catchy, the melodies hit, and her first album had a lot of variety and a lot of hard hitting tracks.

This one is very mellow which i appreciate but kinda sinks (pun intended from the cover) from the lack of really anything imo. It feels like what people said Solar Power was if you get what i mean. It’s not bad at all but i think Dua could do way better

Oh my I didn't vibe with this album at all. End Of An Era is the worst opening song on an album I've heard in years.

The album is just mediocre and bland, sounds soulless like her team had no idea what direction to go this era.

Given how much of a slow burn the first three tracks were I’m not buying any of this hating tbh

It felt so short  happy for you finished and I sat waiting for the next track

never really noticed how she doesn’t tend to go sadder sounding tracks but These Walls and Falling Forever are probably my fave album tracks :nick:

I like 9 of the 11 tracks on my first listen, only ones I didn’t vibe with were End of an Era and Anything For Love

gonna give it another listen :sara:

I think it's a grower. Coming from her first album, Future Nostalgia was such a big surprise to everyone. Now the anticipation after that is obviously going to be higher. I think it will do well but it's kinda chill , I bet she's gonna do something more upbeat next time.

dance pop is her thing and she is excellent at it. I am not interested in seeing her live this era but im sure it will be a learning lesson for her and her label on what works and what doesn't.

This album is GREAT 🔥. Listened the whole thing in one sitting. The only two songs that still have to grow on me are "End of an Era" and "French Exit", but the rest are amazing. This is def her best album in terms of production imo. There are so many cool details in each of the songs, it just makes it so much fun to listen to.

I really want to know what happened with this album behind the scenes, she was talking so much about leaning into psychedelic production with Kevin Parker but it’s all basically tropical EDM - wonder if the label pushed a new sound after Houdini dropped

this critique rubs me the wrong way :triggered: why do a lot of critics suddenly think most pop music MUST be personal & emotional? dua clearly doesn’t care to divulge anything personal through song, and that’s perfectly fine lmao. tbh, i do love taylor, but i fully blame her (and the current wave of less than talented “singer-songwriters” that she has inspired) for ushering in this era of desiring gossip through music. like… can we not just appreciate good pop music for being good & well produced? :saladga:
