Any pop girl could've done it minus the piano bits. It was simply not a "Gaga" show. Super weird. She used to be very smart about using simple things like looks and small but clever props on festival stages to make a huge, viral impression. See V Festival, Glastonbury. This was when she barely had a budget. Now her budget was huge and somehow the creative decisions were super unimaginative. That tells you something about where her creative team is at. the show was also very last minute though mother, what must i do?

Didn’t she do this relatively last minute because Beyonce dropped out? Also she dropped a new song during it!?

This is unfortunately true. I have to admit that I am merely a casual fan these days. It has happened slowly since the Monster Ball because of exactly this.

This moment at Coachella is so powerful. She really reclaimed the song and took the power back, rather than it just be known as "the song that broke her hip." The entire show was an apology letter for ARTPOP, including the surprise release of The Cure. Uhm she did at the JWT Edited April 21 by darkgaga

Keep in mind that she filled in for Beyonce at the last minute. Plus, A Star is Born was being made on a somewhat low budget for that type of film. Part of the agreement was that if Gaga filled in as headliner, they could film on the stages between weekends (which was the first week of shooting). Not to mention, she was just off the Super Bowl and was filming a movie before jumping into tour prep. I think that Gaga straight up did not have a lot of time to prepare for the performance, and during the time her priorities were in other places. 1
