Was Pokemon an inspiration for the Chromatica ball interludes?

Mainly in particular the black & white garden interlude which reminded me of a lot of certain themes from the Pokemon movie - spell of the unown.

Very dark film I'll admit.

oh yeah - i watch that movie - one of the best PKMN movies.

The human brain works by association, I'd say abstract themes and feelings are bound to sometimes evoke similar imagery to artists trying to visualize them.

I'll have to watch that movie in full one day, it somehow never managed to keep my interest for long!

My favorites are "Lucario and the Mystery of Mew", "The Power of Us" (Zeraora) and "Mewtwo Strikes Back" the first movie.

The original Japanese version gives SO MUCH extra meaning to that movie. It's a shame it was taken out for western audiences.

Regarding the garden interlude it reminds me of that scene from Pokemon 3 where the whole garden and castle gets inveloped by the shiny crystals.
