Lana Del Rey at Coachella review – a disappointingly lifeless start to the festival

oh this is stupid. I'm listening to the livestream now as I rip it in 1080p....... she sounds FANTASTIC.

But yeah wbk Lana has no stage presence unfortunately. She's like a classic jazz singer though and her living in this world where she has to sell a show or whatever just may mean she doesn't fit that box.

Some people just ARE awkward and no amount of media training or choreo will fix that. She's always come off very intimidated by large amounts of fans and the whole tour thing in general. I think she'd be happiest just making music and not being forced to tour. 

I mean I'm watching now and she is having mic problems but the core of her voice is doing just fine as far as I can hear. I mean, it's Lana Del Rey, it's not like its gonna be pumping edm. It's slow melancholy.

I did just hear her ask her audio crew in real time for more piano though

She's never been a great performer. I enjoyed it because I love her music and the visuals were pretty nice.

The show was great, it’s kind of an upgraded version of her former festival shows so I don’t think Coachella team was expecting something different. But hey it’s LDR, media will always criticize her no matter what

this.  I mean she's not the most overt vocally. It's all lazy and languid and laid back like she's singing you ballads from her bed. Which is, kinda, peak Lana Del Rey

edit: I'm watching the end and the outro music is straight out of a 1930's movie musical. I mean.... guys. ITS LANA. It's UNDERSTATED

Not sure what they were expecting to see. It's Lana del Rey, she doesn't have a big stage presence, she just has a beautiful voice and a huge talent to write songs.

Coachella is not for her, she's an artist for smaller stages.
