I mean, if we're gonna use Britney Slave 4 U as an example... I'm a Slave 4 U was written for Janet Jackson before Britney snatched it up for a "good girl gone bad" moment, much like how Karma was for Miley Cyrus and JoJo bought it for the same reason. Britney didn't write or produce the song, and she didn't try to serve vocals while performing it; the focus was on the choreography and stunts, which is also true for JoJo. And who's to say that JoJo didn't have some input on how the song was revised, how the video would look, the vibe of the choreo, etc.?

Do I think she's being pretentious or annoying with the "gay-pop" etc. rhetoric and taking more credit than is actually warranted? Yes! Do I think it's base-level disingenuous that she's a musician who curates demos that were sold to her & focuses on the packaging and popstar image? No! Many artists are like that, including Britney, Beyonce (albeit she has the vocals), Selena Gomez, etc.
