Actually the Fortnite collab was originally for 2020/2021, but there was a lawsuit between Epic & Apple that time too which is why it took so long to come out.

It’s already created. They paid to record it. They might as well make some money back. It makes sense to release it

Ehh it could've come sooner, but maybe using the Joker/Fortnite hype was kind of smart.

I have no doubt in my mind that TCB is coming this month and I’m willing to bet the 22nd will come and go, and she’ll announce it the following week with no attachment to Fortnite whatsoever. I have that little faith in her team 😂

Contract structure for Fortnite will have changed, this was not just an obligation. Her team would have had to sit down with Fortnite to iron out rights for the tracks in perpetuity and to be sold rather than played a single time. The emotes might have existed, but Fortnite would have only paid for the 5 second loop rather than the 3 minute songs. Also Fortnite would have had to negotiate for the stems rather than just a single audio file. This was not a checklist moment, it was a recent deliberate decision to bring her into the game in the way they did.

There will always be interest it's Lady Gaga! Half of that show is her old hits anyway. The setlist is actually positioned perfectly for normies with BR, Just Dance, Poker Face at the top.

Also, we have to consider that this concert film is probably not "the product of focus" in Bobby's eyes but perhaps he sees it as a tool to promote something else - LG7, or the Gaga brand in general. It's like a bonus, another piece to the promo puzzle that will boost her public image and presence during this important year.
