this is a really sad and uninformed comment. it's fine if you don't get it, it's less fine to assume you are the arbiter of talent or not.  less than half the song uses samples, the entirety of the rest of it is original material. at least do your own research... And the ones that do often don't use the samples in any obvious way that is integral to the song, for example the samples in Yaya could easily be removed without altering the song's core structure or message. Have you even listened to the album or are you just coming in months later to blindly hate?

Also... just because "renaissance" isn't in cowboy carters name, don't forget that this is still renaissance act II !!! Her renaissance project is all about looking back at the whole history of a genre and especially black american's contributions. So, saying that she isn't being original bc she's referencing music history is really ignoring the entire concept of this three act project lol.
