hieronymus 7,945
I wonder how this did compared to Golden Hour & Star-Crossed Edited March 16 by hieronymus

She was more known in the country world. Star-crossed had a lot more hype and a visual film to accompany it, so I would bet it had more 1st day streams, even though GH is the superior album imo. I googled "Golden Hour Kacey Musgraves 1st Day Streaming Numbers'' but found nothing... Edited March 16 by BlingNotTheMusic
Lucas 20,410
Is the album similar to Golden Hour is any ways? Golden Hour is a masterpiece and when she released star-crossed I was very disappointed, except cherry blossom there isn't a single song I like on the album... It has a more similar sound to Golden Hour than Star-crossed imo. I enjoy several songs on SC but it just wasn't, as a listener, what I wanted from her at the time. Basically this album is more similar to Slow Burn, Lonely Weekend, Oh What A World, Love Is A Wild Thing, etc. Imagine those songs but the entire album is mostly singer-songwritery acoustic feel. But in the BEST way possible and lots of depth in production. EDIT: Also the album has NO BOPS, and I'm ok with that! Her vocals are so calming and the entire album sounds like how being out in nature feels. It's very grounding and comforting. Chill. You're always leaning in to what she will say next and its just VERY high quality production and everything all around. Oh thanks for taking the time to write all that this is exactly what I need to know! Guess it's not for me then because I'm more into the "boppy" tracks like Butterflies, High Horse... Will still give it a try later though

I love her bops too but it's definitely the case of "giving us something we didn't know we needed." Listen with good quality headphones and you will be transported!
