I don't think Emma will be nominated again seeing as she just won but you never know! Jodie Comer and Saoirse Ronan's films have premiered already and had rave reviews. The other three actresses I chose are based mainly on statistics and status. Angelina's movie is another biopic directed by Pablo Larrain (his previous two films landed Natalie Portman and Kristen Stewart nominations), Jessica Lange is an industry legend and she won the Tony award for the same exact performance not too long ago and then there's Gaga who's apart of the highly anticipated Joker sequel. But we'll just have to wait and see how this all plays out! I can’t count Emma out just yet. Did you know that from 2017-2024, the winner for Best Actress has been in either a Searchlight distribution or an A24 distribution? There was one anomaly, which was Renee Zellweger in Judy (2019) BUT the distributor in the US was Roadside (which is owned by Lionsgate) and the distributor in the UK was 20th Century Fox (which is owned by Walt Disney, the parent company of Searchlight). And do you know who won in 2016? Emma Stone for a Lionsgate distributed film. Basicaly, Searchlight/Disney and A24 have the Best Actress market completely on lock and Emma Stone + Searchlight can be a dangerous combination. Oh! Completely forgot to add that after Emma won for La La Land, her next film was The Favorite and she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress. Want to guess who distributed that film? It was Searchlight. Edited March 14 by LateToCult
Ziggy 10,755
I think it’s a little silly to put Emma stone in there lmao she jsut won there’s no chance they’d use a nomination slot on her unless she is absolutely, earth shatteringly phenomenal

As of now, I think they’re actually front runners because the people that will be campaigning with them seem to have the best relationships and connections in Hollywood. JgHaus78 1,874
Whenever I’m watching anything batman related and Harley Quinn appears it always make me wonder “has Gargar seen this ahead of making the movie?” Or what comic books has she read as homework.

Within a month we’ll get a trailer, which will have a lot of buzz. Rumors and leaks up until Venice in the late summer, WW premiere in the fall, then awards campaigning will be in full swing. Not looking forward to May-August and November/December though. Unless Gar drops new music then.

Sure, I just mean for actual voting it’s SO rare to do a double showing like this at the oscars

In my opinion, the Academy loves to play favorites and is less “democratic,” meaning they don’t care too much about sharing the love. They vote for what they like and this past decade shows that they tend to like what Searchlight serves them when it comes to actresses. It’s gonna be a very interesting season!
