Because they know that they already won enough support with Biden in 2020 to win the ticket & take back the Senate. They know that everyone who voted against Trump in 2020 will almost certainly show up to do the same if the ticket is exactly the same. I feel like everyone agrees that his time is over, how could they not find somebody new to replace him as a candidate? American politics are already so not diverse, it is crazy to me how you only have two options, moreover both of them being people that already were in office and arguably neither were popular.
