I don't know half of you half as well as I should like; and I like less than half of you half as well as you deserve.

Well deserved, it was his time. I wish he'd have won for Inception, The Dark Knight or Interstellar but Oppenheimer is truly a masterpiece, so glad he won for this one right now.

i’m so happy for him! he has such a distictive voice in the industry and both interstellar/inception deserved more recognition from the academy. but honestly poor things was the better film in my opinion.

Yeah, Oppenheimer was good, but incredibly overrated imo.

It's a little petty, but I just wanna know how a man known for big spectacle productions can flub showing a nuclear bomb detonation. Like...... that's not how that looks, sir. Apparently that doesn't matter but STILL.

That is tea, tho lmao. I personally didn’t think the storytelling was that great. Like why try and tell it thru the lens of a Congressional hearing and do the back and forth between the past and the present when you could…just tell the story in chronological order? Lmao. Didn’t add anything whatsoever and I think, contrary to Nolan’s intentions, framing it around Oppenheimer being the subject of a witch hunt framed him as both a victim and a hero.

Yeah, the 3rd act is what lost me. Plus dude was trash and I agree the way they profiled him wasn't exactly what I personally feel he deserved to be framed as. But I'm glad people enjoyed it more than me! My tops were The Zone of Interest, Past Lives, and American Fiction.

So I still haven’t seen all the nominees, but I loved Killers of the Flower Moon and Barbie. Def wanna check out those three you mentioned plus Poor Things and Anatomy of a Fall (lowkey a very good year for mainstream film???)

Oppenheimer is a great film though I do think it was partially overrated but that's going to happen when there's big budgets and viral head-to-head blockbusters (i.e Barbenheimer). I do think this win was deserved.

Poor Things is wonderful. Still wanna see Anatomy of a Fall (mostly for the dog).

Very good year for film! It's been a good few years actually. Funny how the bad years in reality make for some awesome art.
