This is actually a harmful thing to say.  There are lots of grown adults who love Disney, who love barbie, who love Superman and bat man and MARVEL and DC universe.  It is totally normal and healthy to be passionate about something and have a hobbie.

Because these kind of comments make people feel like it’s not okay to be an adult but still love what you loved as a child.

im an adult doll collector i collect Barbie and fashion dolls and people love to say ignorant comments just like the ones made by this woman (who I never heard of)

instead, we should normalize and encourage people to embrace their inner child and the things they once loved and you still can love those things.  Let people enjoy what they enjoy and stay out of it if you don’t also enjoy it

Why would they need validation from her to like what they like? I get that she’s from the HP movies, but if I were a HP adult and I heard this, I’d shrug it off as a difference of opinion. You don’t need to justify what you like to anyone else, but you also can’t expect that people are always going to be nice to you about it, either.

Miriam Margolyes isn’t advocating for HP adults to lose civil rights, she’s not advocating for them to be outlawed for their interest, she’s not encouraging systematic violence against them.
