TEANUS 14,894
First off, I was more underwhelmed on Thursday night than I am now. I would’ve given the album like a 6 then but probably a 7.5 now. I appreciate songs like bye, the title track, and supernatural a lot more after a few listens in the car. the boy is mine is TOP TIER sh*t, should’ve been the lead. That brings me to my main point of discussion. I think the overall listening experience of the album would have been a lot better if yes, and? had been revealed with it rather than 2 months prior. If the boy is mine had been the lead, it would’ve been more in line with her usual sound but still a little different and more grown. yes, and? as the lead gave the impression that it was gonna be her poppiest project since Dangerous Woman and first full dance project. Then getting yes, and? as an album track/ second single with release would’ve been like WOAH and I think it would BLOW up as a huge standout while the boy is mine would still be a seriously solid lead. I fully understand the choice of yes, and? as a statement, but I think this could’ve been even better. My single choices: 1. the boy is mine 2. yes, and? 3. we can’t be friends (wait for your love) British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS

Bling 31,289
It's mid with crisp vocals and production, and a few track highlights but mostly disappointing to me as an Ari fan.
Guest
I only listened to it once and I also would rate it on my initial listen a 6/10, but I think with more listens I will rate it up to a 8/10. But I don't think I will revisit the album for a while, because Bleachers released yesterday and I am obsessively listening to that and also Dune soundtrack. nATAH 47,123
i think yes, and? being the lead accidentally set up some expectations for something finally different from her which overshadows the album at first might try it again another day mother, what must i do? Borislshere 52,902
Obsessed with eternal sunshine, bye and supernatural. Was there any reason to the songs all being under 3 min?
TheSine 6,169
The songs are amazing, but they weren't that groundbreaking so 8/10. 💛

Not the biggest Ariana fan but I do enjoy some of her music and doing a full listen to an album with songs no longer than 3 minutes is perfect. Songs don't drag for that long if they don't have to. Coming from a Gaga fan who absolutely loves Born This Way and appreciates songs taking their time to let the instrumentals completely express themselves, I felt a bit awkward about Chromatica having this 3 min average length. As time has passed, I've gotten used to it and makes me want to re listen to it more often instead of getting to a point where I just skip to the next one. It was so left field and unexpected. ALGAYDO 31,802
On the boring side. Not a bad album, not a good one either, just mid. a few highlights tho, including “Yes, and?” “Supernatural,” and “We Can’t Be Friends” when I streamed the whole album, I was taken aback cause it kinda blended together, but not in a cool way, more in a bland kinda way, unfortunately. will definitely stream it again later so I can absorb it a little better

I appreciate this take as another BTW stan, however, longer songs make the eternal wait between albums much less painful. Longer songs (done well) have more replay value and if I'm being honest, I overplayed a lot of Chromatica and it's short track length, so I was already over it within a few months if it's release and had to take a break for a long while.
