Meet and greets in exchange for money are a terrible idea imo. Artists (Gaga included) shouldn't sell them, and people shouldn't buy them. They demean everyone involved imo.

I wouldn't usually be so forthright about stuff (I think) but this is one topic that absolutely fries my brain.

These types of tickets are targeted at legacy fans, people who have hit middle age and have landed a career well paid enough to allow them high disposable income.

Its a very big market for older acts.

I agree unless its done like Gaga during the BTW Ball. She only met true fans and it was for free cause her team picked them.

Absolutely. If it's free, that's great. Or if there's money involved but it goes straight to charity.

Reminds me of when Cheryl Cole was asking for £350 for a meet-and-greet and the package was described as "a commemorative plaque, one signed item and a special meeting with Cheryl" and I saw a comment online that read: "£350 for a 'special' meeting? Depends how special it is..." :deadbanana:

Thing is, J-Lo's only ever done one proper arena tour her entire career. She had a very successful Vegas residency (it out-earned Enigma by a couple million which still annoys me) because people love her old songs but an arena tour is kinda risky after all this time of not releasing successful music. It's unheard of for such a big name to have only done one tour after 25 years in the industry, so I don't know how these tickets were priced so ridiculously. Artists who have had sell-out world tours supporting highly successful albums don't ask for this much and she's doing this for an album that was a non-event. She puts on a great show, can sing well when she really tries and is amazingly agile and energetic for her age but I still don't think it's $4000+ worthy.
