I had no idea it was an agreement with the record company.

I feel like in that case Target should do something to make the tracks available for digital purchase. They would still get the money.

That's exactly what I meant. I should have been more specific about her not including them during the initial release. It's still a marketing tactic regardless.

Not posting them right away will make her fans spend extra money on the extra copies to get that number one, and releasing them on streaming later will guarantee the album has longevity and even a few more number one spots down the line.

I mean, she's a business woman. She obviously wants to make as much profit with her projects as she can.

I agree that she could've announced all the versions at once and just have people decide which or how many to buy, but she probably wants to keep the momentum and get people talking about it. However, it does imply not knowing how many more there will be and fans getting stressed because they think they're missing out by not buying the next one and the next one and so on (as there's no clear communication). 

One of the things that I do not get from her team is how US-centered they always are, like, I get she's looking to get the numbers there but she's an international act and it's insane how this collector editions or other products in general, aren't available for customers outside of the US (and if they are, it's a laughable quantity). 

I would like to see her doing a version with all files/deluxe tracks at the end (and I think this applies to all artists).

In terms of the artistic side of the project, you would only think that there would be a way to listen to the whole album without having to switch CD's / buying multiple versions, even if its a super deluxe version. I also feel like having so many covers takes away the general idea of the album (but that's just a personal opinion). 

I'm curious to see how this will roll out and if she will include a new act for the tour (which she should).

I'm just wondering why, in this day and age, people don't just stream all the bonus tracks or just wait for them to be uploaded to YouTube (and I don't mean by random people, Taylor eventually put out exclusive bonus tracks on her YouTube page). Why people feel the need to straight up BUY bonus tracks in 2024 is wild to me. And how do you know which version to buy if you've never heard the tracks? It's common for bonus tracks to be mediocre except one, so you're just picking which bonus track you'll get based on which variant cover art looks the nicest, which is absurd. If you want to give her money, just put the money you were going to put towards another album version and buy a merch item or concert ticket so you're getting proper bang for your buck. Where do all her fans store all these multiple vinyls for all her albums plus re-releases? Those things are big and take up space. And they're probably doing the same for other artists too. People in the 80's didn't own this many vinyls. Future generations are going to have some job clearing their Swiftie parents/grandparents vinyl collections, I swear.

While this is probably her teams doing, I will admit that by now this is not making her look good. So many people's teams don't know how to read the room when stuff like this could be so easily prevented.

Also, I personally prefer titling stuff like this for re-issues of albums. I'd save a bonus track for a deluxe edition, and then a new name for a re-issue.

The way I think about it, casual fans can skip songs or make playlists without the ones they don’t like, but actual stans get more songs. I’d way rather Gaga release longer albums so us stans get 5 more songs, than cull and throw away perfectly good songs to appease casual fans who like short albums

This is true of deluxe versions too.

I can't imagine Born This Way without Black Jesus, Fashion of His Love, and The Queen or Joanne without Just Another Day and Grigio Girls.

Love Me Right can stay off of Chromatica though as she doesn't fit the general vibe, I feel
