I would somewhat agree if the track lists for each release were entirely different. But it's essentially a bonus track you get depending on the release. Releasing merch or editions is not a scam or taking advantage of people and its really ridiculous to categorize it as such. Nobody is forcing anyone to preorder the album. This is just highlighting the parasocial relationship her fans have with her where they think they NEED to buy every single thing she releases. Now that it's conflicting with the weird collecting rules they made up for themselves, they blame her for giving them an option... Do people not realize how weird that is?

Parasocial= vulnerable. She should know better. And many of them are young- they may not be forced to purchase, but they're impressionable and eager to be a part of her shenanigans.

The fact that it's ONE bonus track per version makes it even worst imo. You basically pay the price of a full album to have access to a single track.

I understand where you're coming from with the fact that nobody is forced to buy the albums but you know damn well that fans want to have access to all the songs and therefore are buying all versions

Just don’t purchase the album! I feel absolutely no sympathy for variant collectors when they complain about stuff that is optional. I’m a fan of hers and just plan on purchasing the ONE I like the best based on the cover.

I get it's wrong but in a way it reminds me of pokemon. Like version exclusive pokemon. What if she did version exclusive songs but instead of announcing them they're like hidden tracks and you don't know which hidden track you'll get. You still get the full album experience and you can talk with your friends or group which song you got. Those who want to have everything will still buy the additional albums. Just a thought experiment
