blackmailing might be a bit strong of a word lol. everyone knows the songs will be floating around twitter for 6 months before they eventually make it to streaming. i'm looking forward to having the songs in my files right next to my old version of you're losing me (a song that was only available on a specific version of midnights).

 

i personally wish billboard would crackdown on the variants stuff altogether, but i don't blame taylor for being smart about it. i'm sure we would all love for gaga to care this much about giving her albums the biggest debuts possible lol

This is one of the main problems with Taylor, what felt like a prolific artist giving her fans lots of new stuff at one point starts to feel like a scam the more you pay attention.

Really the issue is that Taylor is too prolific for her own good and results in eventual overexposure and ideas that are often half baked.

This is why I have never been a fan, she is capable of greatness but is too inconsistent, for every masterpiece like Folklore there is a mediocre mess like Midnights, for every fantastic re-recording like Red TV there is a badly executed disaster like 1989 TV.
