I LOVE that she doesn't push too much about that stuff and mostly focuses on whether she likes a role or not. Because for a film this big you'd expect her to get 20M+ This probably also makes her an attractive candidat for studios when they are making films because they know she is flexible with pay. Plus it's not like she is underselling herself. At the end of the day she is making 12M which is also immense! Tbh considering Gaga makes way more money from music and touring... It may pay off for her to not be too demanding for major roles if it increases her chances of getting them as these roles will help her make money in other aspects of her career due to the relevancy boosts it gives Another $10M wont break or make her. But the potential impact on her career is worth much more than that Its different for actors that predomimantly make money from their casting salaries (unless they make a big enough brand to profit from seperate deals)

Especially ASIB ASIB was made on a small budget overall, Gaga accepted SAG minimum rates basically to ensure it got made. Bradley didn't even take a salary upfront but was paid on the backend. Very different projects/situations Plus she makes money from the soundtrack!

As great as Gaga is, she has made 3 movies, let's not get ahead of ourselves. It has taken some legends far more work to get their first win.

We haven't seen the film so it's still up in the air as to how much if it is carried but him, but I think if both of them are being top-billed and they're the 2 leads then both leads should be paid the same. And film budgets absolutely NEED to go down in average but I'm lit for big budget Gaga though! 2 hours ago, Psyduck said: I understand how this negotiation works but isn't it likely that Gaga will bring more audience than Joaquin? EDIT: NVM. I saw from the other thread that she's probably one of the highest paid actresss. I mean im not surprised... Gaga may have a bigger overall name but Joaquin was in the first movie which makes him a more critical actor for a sequel (Gaga is very valuable but not as critical). Its not uncommon for pay to rise for sequels when u were already a lead in the former movie We also do not know how simmilar the amount of screen time is either for both of them I would have therefore expected Joaquin to be payed more. This isnt surprising. $12M is neverthless very respectable for a 3rd movie
StrawberryBlond 14,881
That budget is immense, makes me wonder what they're possibly planning with that amount knowing that doesn't include marketing. Must be a great deal of explosions, car chases and maybe even some special effects for sure, what else what cost that much? But it does make me worried for how many will turn out for it because it's going to need to make upwards of $700 million with that budget to be a success and considering the first one made over $1 billion, if it makes less, it could be seen as a slight failure. Which means the promo trail is going to be pricey too. Projections for the marketing budget is making my head spin just to think about. Female-led superhero movies have been doing so bad lately that I don't want this to rub off on Gaga. But good on her for getting $12 million, that's amazing for someone who only does acting as a side hustle. She could be a diva and demand more but she's being really smart by just accepting the pay she's offered which will gain her a reputation in the industry for being focused on putting in a good performance rather than a payday. The whole budget for ASIB was only around 40 M, I guess Bradley got back-end salary as producer.

Omar Vela 2,744
Everytime they announce crazy budgets like these, the movies usually flop on ticket sale... hope this is not the case
RAMROD 109,707
These are look so glitzy and all, but hope y'all realize this also mean the pressure get so much higher for her to sell this movie or getting this movie critical accolades (bonafide awards) Warner pour money on this project cos they want it to sell a lot of tickets. Or at least tied with the first one, earning $1Billion (over $60M budget at that), I am praying so hard that this project will go very successful or otherwise, this will taint her reputation forever Oh yes, Hollywood remembers when you give them a flop (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ✧*:・゚ dancin' until i'm dead (*´艸`*) ♡♡♡

Future Lovers 6,927
There is genuinely no reason this budget. Even factoring in the rumored paydays the cast and director gets, this is still nearly $150 million spent on the film itself. Unless they're completely abandoning everything that made the original film interesting (grounded character study), this cost is hugely unnecessary. She hasn't really though, is the thing. I doubt she'll win an Oscar for this unless its really, really, really exemplary. The fact Joaquin got one for the first film is nothing short of a miracle. Not undeserved, but this genre is an uphill battle awards wise and i don't foresee this repeating the first one's successes in that department, even if it's better.
