Bey was initially supposed to star opposite Leo in a remake directed by Clint Eastwood. Then when that fell apart Cooper took over.

This is a sound-bite from an hour long interview. 

Beyonce was attached to star, and when Cooper & Eastwood finally went to producers, they were told “if you can make it for under 25 million and with Beyonce”.  When that eventually fell through, he mentioned maybe Adele briefly as a “what know?”.

Then he saw Gaga perform, and it blew him away. He went to her house to meet her. The rest is history. 

He didn’t say anything unsaid… Gaga knows this.

Like we already knew this was originally crafted with Beyoncé in mind but last week he mentioned Adele, now he's raving about Bey. I don't think Gaga would care at all but it might sound a little weird considering how Gaga built the entire ASIB era around the "100 people" quote 

Watch the interview where he talks about it. He’s gracious about all three, and Gaga was an “a-ha!” moment.
