valentine’s day and I have history. bit of weird holiday if you ask me. it always takes me back to a period when I wasn’t able to be quite myself. I think back on the first time I confessed my feelings for another man - I took a risk, but ultimately he wasn’t ready to be honest with himself, leaving me confused and heartbroken. those who know me know I can gravitate toward the dramatic, but I felt like the world was over in that moment. the sting of rejection was unbearable. now, many many sleeps later, I can look back and understand that it all happened for a reason. it was never going to work - the two of us. this song is just one part of the story. more to come.
