Other underground pop artists have been chiming in pro-ayesha on this one, so I'm leaning towards her (Aside from the antitrans and AB stan points)

Religion is a product to sell.

Also doesn't help her case that Dr. Luke is all over her upcoming project

Yeah I just checked and it doesn't look like they follow each other on twitter or insta. It's a very complex situation, I do remember Kesha liking tweets saying not to bully Kim or other artists working with him. Luke seems like a master manipulator and we will never know the extent of Kim's contractual obligations to him.

Yeah, and honestly the closer you examine it the more complex it gets. And it’s unfortunate that the narrative around Kim is that she said “Kesha lied” she was a brand new artist with a publishing deal lacking support and training of a label deal. She clearly in the video did not anticipate such a question and tried to give what was intended to be a PR answer that dodged the question - and she missed the mark huuuugely.

and just looking at the history of WHY she is linked to Luke in the first place is important too. Aaron Joseph was under Luke. So in working with him she created business ties and hence had the publishing deal through Lukes camp. She started releasing in 2016, but the business side before even working on music starts takes time. The allegations were still fresh even at the point of 2016 - no clue on the exact time frame of Kim meeting Aaron and the process before releasing music. And as information slowly came out it would be incredibly easy for Luke to build a story denying or explaining how it’s a “misunderstanding”

then you get into the immigration and visa side of things for Kim at that point and how that impacts decisions. Or how a publishing deal still has contractual obligations to those above her - just without them allocating a real budget to her for work.

the music and entertainment industry is predatory even without what we know about Luke. In every sense of the word, financially, emotionally, physically - it targets people desperate to create or perform and make it big. And the behavior is so common and all encompassing that it’s just an open secret pretty much. There is no ethical or moral way to engage with the industry once you understand how bad it truly is for artists.
