She could do better so no :icant:

Joanne is rather half azzed with exploring the country sounds, and because if it sometimes felt rather not genuine :ohwell:

People who call Joanne a country inspired album either haven’t listened to the album or have no idea what country is

Theres a solid three country inspired songs on that album, we’re better off calling it a rock album or The Fame a hip hop album

I think it’s fair to call it a country/americana inspired album, but not a country album. Songs with country/americana influence: Diamond Heart, Ayo, Joanne, John Wayne, Million Reasons, Sinner’s Prayer, Angel Down, Grigio Girls. That’s like…most of the album lmao

it was an impactful in terms of major pop artists turning to country for more stripped down & "personal" approach to the music like Kesha, Miley Cyrus, Kylie Minogue, hell even Justin Timberlake

but in terms of ahead of it's time, no.

just because Gaga released a country-flavored album that's hardly considered country imo except for Million Reasons, title track, & Sinner's Prayer. The rest of the songs are largely soft rock & americana.

Beyonce is going FULL country.

I don’t have the time to label the whole album, but as someone who grew up listening to country, these are the three songs I’d consider actually country influenced. Don’t let her “I smoke 3 packs a day” accent and random country reference lyrics make y’all think songs those others are.

Dancing Shadow

IT ABSOLUTELY WAS, but its wasnt an original idea.

However, after joanne everyone seemed to want to do folk music

plus a lot of the songs in it were actually really meaningful!!

It has atleast 5 songs that either have country element or are straight up country. It definitely qualifies as a country inspired album

no, women have been doing acoustic music for decades, if anything, Joanne has a classic timeless sound

I grew up in a rural area in Appalachia, so I’ve heard a lot of country music as well. The tracks I listed + Grigio Girls (forgot about her) are all pretty country forward in terms of instrument choices and soundscape IMO

Joanne really is not that country, this fanbase CLUNG to that word the moment it was rumoured

I called it that before I was part of the fanbase and never even heard the rumor

Does it not feel genuine because it was the beginning of her "100 people in a room"-esque absurd quotes meme era?

I love Joanne just as much as the next guy, but no. BTW and ARTPOP are examples of Gaga albums that were ahead of their time. Now if Grigio Girls goes viral on TikTok and gets a limited edition vinyl release, then yeah I’ll take back what I said, but no one outside of us even knows about Joanne :toofunny:. Maybe the Million Reasons locals might know it, but only bc that song.
