Songs with country/americana influence: Diamond Heart, Ayo, Joanne, John Wayne, Million Reasons, Sinner’s Prayer, Angel Down, Grigio Girls. That’s like…most of the album lmao Edited February 12 by Ladle Ghoulash
tyler k 4,735
it was an impactful in terms of major pop artists turning to country for more stripped down & "personal" approach to the music like Kesha, Miley Cyrus, Kylie Minogue, hell even Justin Timberlake but in terms of ahead of it's time, no. just because Gaga released a country-flavored album that's hardly considered country imo except for Million Reasons, title track, & Sinner's Prayer. The rest of the songs are largely soft rock & americana. Beyonce is going FULL country. mmmy name ~isn't~ aliceee

Don’t let her “I smoke 3 packs a day” accent and random country reference lyrics make y’all think songs those others are. 1
Dancing Shadow 1,171
IT ABSOLUTELY WAS, but its wasnt an original idea. However, after joanne everyone seemed to want to do folk music plus a lot of the songs in it were actually really meaningful!! The tracks I listed + Grigio Girls (forgot about her) are all pretty country forward in terms of instrument choices and soundscape IMO British social ladies with upturned pinkies, glasses clinking // xoxoTEANUS

Onlygaga 1,125
I love Joanne just as much as the next guy, but no. BTW and ARTPOP are examples of Gaga albums that were ahead of their time. Now if Grigio Girls goes viral on TikTok and gets a limited edition vinyl release, then yeah I’ll take back what I said, but no one outside of us even knows about Joanne . Maybe the Million Reasons locals might know it, but only bc that song.
