and let's be real, katy has no choice but to work her ass off. Gaga is more in the leagues of beyonce who can just comfortably drop an album and dip

I think if it comes in February then she’ll announce middle of that month. 
If she does it too soon after the benefit concert, people will accuse her of using the platform to promote herself. Same if she announces it before. 
We can’t win.

She can announce the album and still perform songs non-related to the album at the concert... There's a total of ZERO issue here.

well the weeknds album is due to come out on the same day and he's not performing which is arguably worse

To be honest I wouldn't bet all my money on this, she hasn't put that much effort into communication about anything lately. I mean she hasn't even shared the official announcement of the charity concert for L.A. fire funds or even commented any TikToks teasing stuff like she used to do last year 

Feel like she super focused on stuff and pulled out the pull on socializing and teasing lately. Maybe for the best if it means being ultra focused on Coachella and Rio show rehearsals. Even if they delayed the album I doubt it's more than 2/3 weeks as Coachella will be coming fast.
