We already know from the popjustice insider that the album will be announced 1 week before release, pre-orders are not the be-all end all. Nothing she did so far suggests that she cares about first week performance. Just think of how Disease was handled. Was the video released on time? No. Was the promo released soon after release? No. They did the slow dribble of content and it clearly shows the attitude towards the era. They don't care about first week numbers.

We do not know that - that was their opinion on what might happen, which they made sure to say.

The only music release that was ridiculously in sync with another catastrophic event was when The Weeknd was counting down to his new album, the exact moment Russia declared war on Ukraine. :bradley:

Lol awks! The other one was Sam Smith who was going to release “To Die For”/name his album after that right when we went into lockdown for Covid.

There is a whole big corporation behind this massive release and tons of planning.

We don't even see the tip of the iceberg. Creating scenarios in our heads won't help anyone at all. Let's just relax and hope for the best.

Literally who cares? At this point in Gaga’s career honestly. We just want the goddamn music.

I’m not real, I’m theatre.

Interscope will care :triggered: as should you all if her budget starts to decrease.

Interscope got DWAS, the other hits as well, the tour grossing, the albums. Y'all still acting like she's this new artist who has to prove something to her label otherwise they drop her.

You are not even being pessimist here, this is pure comedy. STOP.

Yeah, she's one of Interscopes most profitable artists - they care about her opening trajectory. I know that as fans our main interest in the music and visuals or whatever, but she's a big part of Interscopes conglomerate and it's in the best interest of everyone involved her markers start off well. Opening pre-orders with the selling point of "this album includes the now #1 single 'Die With a Smile'" was right there at the start of this week. I'm still excited for the record but I get this sense behind the scenes someone is dropping the ball, or something is causing the ball to continue to be dropped. I understand plenty of her peers have pre-order windows of 4-6 weeks, but plenty of her peers have also had pre-order windows of 6-10+ weeks. I'm just not understanding the silence.

I mean true on part 1 and 2 haha but there was so much hype in the summer with everything going on, among us and just the general public, however I feel like everything died down.. they had so much momentum to work with and now they'll have to build it up again somehow.

As for point 3.... they cancelled a lot of things due to covid and the BLM movement... fires this close to home might be also a bit bad for business.

They had momentum in the Fall before Joker came out though. Imagine if she released an album right before the movie and then when it was released, bombed, and took all that momentum and good press away. I think she was right to separate it from Joker. DWAS is still going strong, so they don't have to "build up" the momentum again. Disease fell flat—commercially speaking—but that doesn't mean it's all over now.

In regards to the other point, Covid and BLM were both much bigger and socially impactful events. BLM protests were happening all across the US and Covid was a global pandemic. The two are not comparable to the LA fires. The fires are devastating, and obviously we all wish that Gaga and everyone affected are safe, but they're not going to affect the news cycle for LG7 next month.

Then laugh and move on, you’re not here to dictate to the rest of us.

Anyone who thinks her sales and reception don’t matter are delusional.

I'm patiently waiting, I was a bit anxious over the new years because I thought we'd be getting something (my fault honestly lol), but this way I'll be even more happy when something drops or is announced.

I just wish we had a title by this point, because it's a bit silly how we are still calling it LG7, I want the name NOW

I think everyone cares about numbers and recepetion - much or less - but saying things like "she'll pull katy perry opening numbers" it's just poisoning the threads and the fanbase in general.

It's not her fault if people expected a 10+ weeks pre-orders because that was never the case with her. Pre-order will come, the second single will come and with them the tracklist and the name of the album.
